Morning scab completely watchable without joe this am... |
|
mark halperin, lawrence o'donnell, dylan raddigan, chuck todd all having interesting, uninterupted conversations about the economy, the transition of power etc. Of course mika muttering, sighing and mumbling in the background, but not nearly as bad as usual.
I wish joe would take a permanent vacation.

6. Me too- That woman makes the show unwatchable |
|
I can stomach Joe more then her.
I always end up turning to CNN or local news in a couple minutes.

3. I was stunned to hear the exchange |
|
about the bailout of Detroit v Citi Bank. Without Joe there they actually spoke some truths. Barnacle was saying that we (meaning the press?) don't think twice about supporting the bailout of the investor class, yet get up in arms about bailing out blue collar workers. He went on to say that everyone whines and cries over the wages of the blue collar UAW, yet those at Citi Bank make in one month what UAW make in a year. Everyone at the table either agreed or didn't bother to voice dissension.
It was a stunning for it's honesty, something that I don't often hear on Morning Joe.

4. Yes, the exchange of opinions was very interesting and ... |
|
even informative during that chat. Something that would have never happened if that self absorbed blowhard would have been there. I, too thought barnacle's comment was extremely well reasoned and true. Something you don't get that often from him.

5. That's what infuriates me about Barnacle |
|
Is that I believe that he knows better than the crap that he usually spiels.

9. I wonder why they don't have more women on the panel...ever! |
|
The most we get besides Mika is freaking Andrea Mitchell...I hate when breaking news comes through and Mika says "Ummmmm....guys? Ummmm.....guys?" But I agree, even though Mika is still annoying, I find it more watchable without Joe.

10. Yes, it was an informative discussion without Joe talking over everybody. What a difference... |

I agree with most of the comments here -- except the one about Mika being better when she knows nothing about the topic. If that were true, she'd be fabulous all the time.
She made her usual guttural noises, non-vowel sounds, and sighs, but that's easier to ignore than Joe stomping on any interaction. Mika can't be good, but she doesn't get in the way as much as Joe. The guests were all great. Even Halperin was actually adding information to the conversation.
I wonder if the palpable difference in the tone of conversation will give anyone pause about their morning show strategy... It was very notable.

Joe serves a purpose. He is a conservative knucklehead who comes to the show with the pre-approved talking points of the RNC. However, he puts on challenging guests and actually listens to what they say. By the end of the program, he sounds almost like a liberal. The next day, of course, he has rediscovered his "core conservative principles" (whatever they are) and starts at square one.
