CNBC announcing gov't is going to buy up bad consumer credit card debt from the banks.. |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 08:22 AM by ddeclue
meanwhile we are all getting screwed by the credit card companies with their loan shark rates.
Why not give the CONSUMER this money to pay off their loans?
They are bailing out the BANKS and leaving the consumer hanging...

So why waste time and energy on them? Let them eat cake.
The Predator Class has no time for such nonsense.

In fact if they gave all the folks in America part of that bailout, people could pay off mortgages, autos, credit cards and maybe then buy things. Problem solved. trickle up!!

4. Give $$ to people who wanted stuff before they had the wherewithal? I think NOT! |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 08:27 AM by WinkyDink
Maybe it's because I know some who have max'ed out cards just to support a fandom habit, and who have no intention of PAYING.
It's not exactly as if poor people are using MasterCards to charge food and rent, now, is it?

5. A lot of people wanted things like "gas" and "prescriptions" and "groceries" and "electricity" |
|
the last few years "before they had the wherewithal"
this economy is not paying a lot of people a living wage but at the same time putting them in a situation where they had to borrow at loan shark rates just to get by - especially when there was unemployment or an illness.

9. Those student loans are so unnecessary and self indulgent |
|
How egotistical to spend money one doesn't have on an education! Why can't everyone just live within their means?! And cars! Excuse me but why do people feel they need expensive cars?! If you can't pay cash, then don't get a car! Everyone is just too self-indulgent

Tell that to my friend who has a lot of credit card debt from paying for school items like textbooks, lab kits, tuition payments, and the like because she couldn't get enough money or loans to cover everything. I have a lot of credit cards in collection because I got sick and wasn't able to work to pay off the credit debt that I owed from paying for things like rent, medications, left over college expenses (have you seen the price of science textbooks?) electric bills, groceries, cash advances for rent, etc. Add to that the fact that my sister and I were trying to help our parents with their expenses, as well. None of the expenditures were frivolous. But of course it's our fault that we owe the money. :/
I'm able to work full time now but I still only make $22K a year (and I live in a city) and even splitting the costs with my sister, there's not enough money left over to make many payments.

If they gave the money to consumers, the bills would get paid off. This way, the banks get the money for the debts and still get to have people in debt to them at the same time!
