Susan Rice Likely to UN
Susan Rice Likely to UN for Obama
November 24, 2008 2:25 PM
From Jake Tapper, George Stephanopoulos, and Martha Raddatz:

ABC News has learned that Dr. Susan Rice has emerged as the leading candidate to be President-elect Obama's nominee as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Neither Dr. Rice nor the Obama Transition Team had any comment. The usual caveats apply -- nothing is yet a done deal, nothing has been officially offered or accepted, national security team announcements will not come until after Thanksgiving.

Dr. Rice, a member of President Bill Clinton's National Security Council and a former Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, was involved in President-elect Obama's campaign as a senior foreign policy adviser. The former Rhodes Scholar in 2000 received the National Security Council's Samuel Nelson Drew Memorial Award for distinguished contributions to the formation of peaceful, cooperative relationships between nations, and U.S. security policy for global peace.

3. Quite a contrast from some of the arrogant morons Bush has had in that post.
e.g. Bolton.

4. Thats for sure.
Imagine... some one who actually wants to work *with* the world, rather than against. Not to mention the fact that she's brilliant. She's perfect for that job.

Love to see her run for Pres. some day.

5. She will be excellent in whatever post she has....
The UN will be a good fit for her. Much to be done, many fences to mend, many wrongs to be righted there. I think she would be an excellent choice. I found her her totally competent and impressive during the campaign.
