Have Wesley Clark and Barrack Obama ever had a conversation?
I know there is a little Clark Fan Club here. It's always puzzled me, but - hey - I still want Bill Bradley involved in national politics. So, I understand weird man crushes on national figures.

But, I need proof that Clark and Obama, like, know each other before I believe that he is ever going to end as Secretary of Defense...or in any administrative post.

Have they ever conversed? Talked about each other? Been in the same room?

Why has his name never come up for any position...except here?

And do you really want a general in charge of defense? That strikes me as a remarkably bad idea on its face.

3. Thanks for the picture, but I remember that interview being a bit of a mess for Obama
Clark going after McCain's military experience was a good point, but not a necessary one.

5. That was orchestrated by Bob Schieffer
Bob was pushing that "McCain is supremely qualified because he got shot down a bunch" meme and Clark simply wasn't going to allow that. Yes, Clark took a massive political hit for simply repeating Schieffer's words, but there was nothing inaccurate about his statements.

4. I remember that now. Clark took quite a bit of heat for his attacks on McCain's
qualifications: i.e., being a POW may make you a hero, but it doesn't qualify you for anything. I assumed at the time that Wes was carrying a message for Barack that Barack wanted out there from a credible source, but didn't want to associate himself with. I also figured there might be a payoff for Wes after the furore over his comments died down.

7. Wed did what good surrogates do and he did it extremely well..
Even though Wes caught a lot of heat he was effective in getting the M$M to stop repeating the meme that McCain was more qualified to be C-I-C because of his captivity.

6. You've got a few things to learn,
about General Clark and about Pres-elect Obama.

8. Like what exactly?
From a distance, it appears to me that no one in Democratic circles cares for Clark too much.

I honestly don't know what the issue is.

9. I'm not sure that's true - Clark was given the job in 2006
to craft the leadership's Iraq policy statement. This was significant - it was not just a result of him holding a position that did these things.
