Obama DID listen to US!! John Brennan will NOT be the CIA Director
Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 11:11 PM by bertman
because of the netroots. Thanks to all who brought this to our attention.

Our outrage and our overwhelming flurry of anti-Brennan emails to the Obama Transition team helped win this one.

That's a good start.

1. Technically, he withdrew his name from consideration
However the letters probably had something to do with it.

2. That's why I've been supporting Obama all this time...
because he does listen.

He's not going to agree with us on all the issues. There is no politician out there that does. Some people will say he's too far left, others will say he's not left enough.

But he will listen. He will steer his policies somewhere in a direction that's in this country's best interests. Maybe not the way we want it, but not so far off.

Maybe the war in Iraq won't end as soon as we would like it, but Obama will see to it that it ends and our troops can come home. Maybe we won't agree with the way he chooses to deal with our shattered economy, but he's listening to us, building his positions and policies, and he's busting his ass to give us the most a President can give to bring this nation back on its feet. Maybe we won't agree with the way he deals with the health care crisis, but he's already at work finding a way to ensure that we no longer have 45-50 million people without health insurance, dying for lack of medical care, bankrupted by medical expenses.

4. I firmly believe that if thousands of us make our voices heard by calls/emails/letters
that we have some impact. Thanks

5. And enter the "nothing can ever be good enough....
it's too late the damage is done he'll do something worse he didn't do it for us he didn't do it at all it's a Rovian trick" crowd.

Face it: Short of Obama getting a gun and shooting every republican he lays his eyes on, nothing he does will be remotely close to good enough.
