Let's all spend a minute and tell the Obama transition team how we feel about being poisoned
Edited on Wed Nov-26-08 12:46 AM by themartyred
by the B*sh administration's lack of doing their job of protecting the American public - we have to have our voices heard about this or our food safety will continue to get worse.

The Melamine 'shit has hit the fan' - breaking news as you saw most likely, that traces of Melamine are now being found in American baby formula, first it killed thousands of American pets, then it hit China, and now it's showing up in our babies formula.

Please tell the Obama team they need to take immediate actions against companies not doing their jobs of providing goods that don't harm us or they'll face major fines and possible prison, and tell him that you expect the FDA and customs to do their jobs of protecting the American people, not working against us, and whatever else you wanna say - but...

PLEASE say something - this is serious, friends!

THIS IS WHY THEY HAVE THE WEBSITE - TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT WE'RE THINKING ABOUT!

4. I know! It's horrible. First my mom's dog died of it, and now they've found it our babies formulas!
This has got to end. The only way Americans get things accomplished is when we en masse voice disgust. I know B*sh is not going to do sh*t about it, in fact, he's pushed for more regulations to be dropped, that protected the consumers, than can be counted. We need to reach out to the leaders that care, because the current administration is full of criminals who got us into this mess! It's just like prop 8 rallies - gather up support and voice it until change happens, and we need to do the same with the poisons in our food that are coming from Canada (by way of China), China and other countries.

2. I am not going to be dismissive of this latest melamine threat.
I expressed my disgust over this in another thread.

It seems that Obama will have to take immediate action about everything right away and all at the same time. I don't know how he is going to do it.

6. we're on the same page - this is now getting a tad bit obvious what's happening to our once vaunted
food safety. I don't know how he's going to take immediate action on everything, but he will have to. That's why he has all these appointments being made, they will need to act on behalf of the American people - and not keeping the status quo like is being done at the Pentagon. We have to voice our concerns so it's a top priority.

Thanks!

5. I've had enough scare mongering bullshit from previous administrations.
I don't want to see otherwise sane people freaking out over ultra trace levels of plastic residue.

Thanks anyways though.

7. hey hanse
you tell that to yourself all you want to - but you go tell all the SICKENED and DEAD who have been poisoned by this in their food. Apparently you didn't have a pet also die from it's first outbreak here in the USA, or apparently watch any of the video on the families wondering why their dog's kidneys stopped functioning. I love how people turn a blind eye til it finally hits them. You were warned by the news reports, so don't let it come as a shock if it hits you in the future.

8. Nobody's ever died from very low trace melamine in the food supply.
Since very low trace melamine has been in the average American's diet for some 80's thanks to plastic dinnerware.

So spare the "Saddam's WMDs are 15 minutes away from landing in NY" business.

to say you don't believe it, and bring up #'s you feel are relevant, I respect that deeply, but you better check yourself when you tell me to spare the discussion over this story which has been a very important and deadly issue for years, and is now getting worse.

11. Haven't you got chemtrails or something to worry about?
"this story which has been a very important and deadly issue for years"

The melamine adultering in Chinese products has been a deadly issue for years. But that was up to 50% dry weight melamine.

Very low trace amounts of melamine are a seperate issue.

13. I thought there
was no safe level of melamine in food. As an older adult, I am not concerned but babies are another matter all together.

14. Certainly there's a safe limit.
I believe about 2 ppm is the acceptable limit.

There are safe limits to any chemical. The existence of a chemical isn't important, the concentration is.

Basic toxicology.

15. I know there is one for adults
but I was under the impression there is not a safe limit established for infants?

12. I'll get upset when someone provides a study claiming
that people are being exposed to dangerous levels of it. It's hard to get Really Outraged over each week's trace toxin found where it shouldn't be.
