I mean, the article that already has TWO threads on it here essentially states that, and a commenter at HuffPo points it out:

Did not even need to quote unamed sources. So did Obama say that he suggested she might do something like SOSUS but did not mean exactly that? When a President elect is talking to his main competitor about a position, do you think he was not serious about it? Yep, these "crybaby Hillary Hater" have moved into freeper territory. There's no longer a need to even quote the proverbial "unnamed sources," and with the latest charge, they're essentially saying Obama is so easily manipulated. People jumping on these "Hillary isn't eligible/Hillary tricked Obama" stories are nuts.

Hillary would need to be unGodly scheming, and even if one believes her capable of this sort of maneuver, it is hard to imagine that she would be stupid enough to think that it would not just piss Obama off and he would make an announcement on Friday of somebody other than her.

No one was more pissed at Bill and Hill during the contentious part of the primaries than I was. But they performed strongly down the stretch, and Hillary is very qualified for the job of SOS. I think it's a great appointment.

I am not going to spend the next four years reading the posts of Hillary haters. Anyone who starts such a thread I put on Ignore, and that has weeded out almost all the Hillary hate.

Since it is only a few weeks past the election, I conclude that the harshest critics of all Obama does are either (1) not really Democrats, or (2) not emotionally capable of dealing with success. Either way, I'm not wasting any time reading them.

Because that was the point of dispute here at DU. My impression that there had been no formal offer made was vehemently disputed, and so it is perfectly natural for me to post the headline piece from Huffington Post today. And, as usual, it is met with the same one-two punch from the same people: slam the source and personally attack me.

I guess you missed the piece somebody posted here yesterday indicating Hillary misunderstand and that no offer had been made. Obama's camp didn't leak for 18 months, so it's not much of leap to believe the leaks based on an apparent misunderstanding came from Clinton. The rest is history.

And I think it's important to be clear on history as it is being made because revisionist history begins soon afterward here at DU.

So, I will gladly stand corrected if you have a link to a formal offer or nomination made by Obama to Clinton for SoS.

I assume that a formal offer wasn't made when Obama and Clinton met in Chicago because formal offers would be extended only after all of the vetting process has been completed. The absence of a formal offer doesn't mean that Hillary wasn't told that she was his first pick. I don't know what she was told then, but it seems highly likely that she will be our next SOS.
