Peggy Noonan on MSNBC: Media wants to make Sarah Palin the face of the Republican party...
I guess she has a "media conspiracy" theory since she does not seem to like Sarah. But then she said that Ms Palin should work at being an excellent Alaska governor so that in two years the New York times can have a story about her accomplishments. She also noted that Sarah is going to have a harder time now because she cannot shake a lot of money from the oil industry to give to her contituents.... Interesting.

1. Just like the media wants to make Hillary the face of Obama's administration.

2. McCain's campaign brought Palin to light. The Republican Nat'l Convention endorsed her.
And the base turned her into their idol. The media, in this case, is simply providing a conduit for the GOP's folly.

23. Airing a commercial makes them a "shill"?
Commercial television shows commercials. It's a business. It's up to us to filter out the chunks.

One of the most amazing examples of this was in the week prior to the election. Three times during the hour of Olbermann's "Countdown" we in Indiana were treated to McCain commercials declaring all kinds of ugly things about Obama (e.g., associating with Rev. Wright). Can you imagine paying for these commercials to run during the most liberal television program ever aired? I was all for it -- more money in MSNBC's pockets to further enable Olbermann to bash McCain, Palin, and the rest.

3. Is that why Newt was praising her two week ago?
Yes, NEWT was praising Palin on Face the Nation the Sunday before last.

7. I agree with that
They think she's good for business, pure and simple. They suspected it, and then the VP debate ratings made their hearts go pitter patter. Done deal; they want her back.

9. Who else do they have?
Everyone else is near death. Republicans have been too busy hoarding all the goodies and not developing new faces for their team. Palin is a bright and shiny object to them.

She's a complete joke who doesn't know she's a joke, so will continue to provide hours of hilarity while representing a loser turkey dog of a complete joke party.
Cheers! :toast:

12. Noonan is trying to save her party
Edited on Wed Nov-26-08 08:14 AM by alwysdrunk
She's trying to blame the media for Palin instead of the ignorant, racist, fundamentalist base. Palin is an embarrassment to any intelligent or educated conservative. But they can't throw her under the bus because the base might actually do some crazy shit like nominate her third party, or take a fight all the way to the convention. And she is enough of a walking ego-trip that she would take it.

McCain really created a potential monster here without knowing it. They need her to slowly fail and fade away. I for one hope she stays in the spotlight and starts her exploratory committee on Jan 1 2010.

16. Um, Peggy, 64% of your party want her as your nominee in 2012, so quit trying
to blame the media. For most people, the more they see and hear of her, the less they like her. The opposite is true for many Republikans though, so face it, Peg, your party is filled with idiots.

17. No, this monster was created by the GOP, and she's 100% GOP BASE.
That's the GOP's problem. Their base is out of control and likes one of their own. The base was never meant to advance one of its own. The base is supposed to support the rich rightwinger the overlords have picked.

20. yes, Peggy.
And you sure didn't help things along when you pretended she was a "star" after the first VP debate, and did a "just kidding!" after the open mike incident. She eventually came down harder on Palin, but only after the cool kid (this is an oxymoron) conservatives were doing it.

They will 'create' a persona for her and try to sucker the American people into believing she is second coming of Jesus.

I guess the Pukes haven't learned anything - they are still all about image over substance.

she could star as the "evil hockey mom" in the next Batman movie. Of course she'd have to do everything with Trig strapped to her. Poor kid!
