Did anyone see Marc Morial on Morning Joe today? |

He was outstanding. They definitely need to have him back on.

4. I saw it - he was excellent |

They talked about the financial meltdown, etc. These conversations are often pretty shallow with lots of superficial talking points and pontificating. But Morial was very knowledgeable and talked about the issue in a way we don't often hear. It's kind of hard to describe if you didn't see it. But one thing he did was to explain the economic complexities in a very simple way and also talk about the impact on real people, the need to create jobs, etc. And he did it in a way that made the others stop talking in soundbytes and really try to discuss the issue intelligently. This guy really knows his stuff. I was very impressed.

5. the topic was the economic crisis |
|
Marc Morial analyzed it with real depth and understanding. He framed the problem in a really interesting way and then talked about solutions. One thing he said that struck me - Mika Brzezinski was talking about the auto industry and referred to "Detroit.". Morial gently pointed out that the auto industry is in 28 cities across the country so this isn't just about one place - it's affecting people all over America. I'd never heard anyone say that before.
He was very, very good.

6. Thanks for the details...most appreciated. |
|
Good to hear that he pointed out how short-sighted Meeka is in thinking the auto industry problems will only have an impact on Detroit.

7. Yes he was very interesting. |

Usually Joe's gang of giggling idiots step all over a good guest, interrupting with yuks and goofy comments, but they let him speak in some depth.

10. Wow - that's pretty snarky |

I think it's important for them to know that people are paying attention to what they're putting out there. And it's good to point out when they do something right. Why cede the airwaves to the other side?
