Leadership: Since Obama started rolling out his economic team, the market has gained EVERY day

Friday at 3pm, the market was flat. Word leaked that Obama was going to name Tim Geithner as his Treasury secretary at 3:05pm. The Dow rose 500 points in the final hour.

Monday, Obama rolls out more of his economic team.... Dow goes up nearly 400 points.

Tuesday, despite bad economic news, Obama holds presser talking about the cuts he's going to make in the federal budget. Dow has a modest gain of 35 points.

Wednesday, the Dow opens sharply lower on bad consumer spending and durable goods news... then Obama announces his newly-formed "Economic Council" headed by Paul Volcker. Dow rebounds sharply and goes into positive territory.



Obama is displaying leadership on the economy.... while Bush is hiding in the White House in the fetal position, only coming out to pardon a turkey.


The economy is in trouble. Things are bad, and the fourth quarter of 2008 will be brutal. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and the market sees it.

By the end of 2009, the recession will be over. And it will be less painful than it otherwise would have been because of the leadership of Barack Obama and the impressive team he has put together.
