Former President Bill Clinton spoke to some 400 supporters of Mayor Luke Ravenstahl at a private fund raiser Downtown this afternoon, part of an effort by the incumbent mayor to have $1 million in his campaign coffers by the end of the year.
Mr. Clinton came to town due to the mayor's support of his wife in the April primary for president, Mr. Ravenstahl said after the $500-a-plate luncheon. Though the mayor currently faces no opposition in the Democratic primary in May, he said a big war chest is still necessary should he face a race.

After giving away tickets to some elected officials, at least 350 people paid to attend Mr. Clinton's speech, generating $175,000 in gross revenues for his campaign. At least 10 people paid $10,000 for a private photo session with the ex-president.
Media were barred from the Omni William Penn hotel event, but Mr. Ravenstahl and others said Mr. Clinton talked generally about the national economy and its effect on cities and -- well-briefed as always -- noted the mayor's support of the Pittsburgh Promise scholarship program and efforts for city-county consolidation. He also made a joke about the 28-year-old mayor, noting that he was 32 when he became governor of Arkansas.

I just posted this because Big dawg is in town and I thought someone might be interested to know what he is doing,he was a pretty good President and this is GDP, so I thought it was the appropriate place to post it,I like Bill Clinton and didn't think an article about him would kick up such a ruckus?
