.... it is a concept invented by man. The inspiration of it apparently comes from Revelation and from Matthew 24.

Most scholars who don't get the bulk of their education by watching the 700 Club :) agree that the times that these scriptures refer to describe the time in the first hundred years after the death of Christ when Christians were being persecuted by the Roman government.

Part of this is the notion that Christ will come back to Earth and establish a literal kingdom. In fact this kingdown was established on the Day of Pentecost. The "kingdom" is the Church. Christ made that abundantly clear in Matthew 16:28 "Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."

In other words, these folks dont spend enough time reading the Bible and spend too much time watching Sean Hannity, who, I've heard, is anti-semetic. :)
