You know, Keith did MSNBC and the world a tremendous favor when he kicked Dana Milbank off his show |
|
I used to like Milbank; now I loathe him. The guy just can't get a clue. Or a point: Milbank: Obama Running Out Of Things To Say, Offering Turkey Recipes http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/26/AR2008112603714_pf.html

he ridiculed John Conyers for holding a hearing on the Downing Street Memo. His mean streak really shows up in his articles.

Dana wrote an article portraying Obama as a presumptuous asshole, and used a quote attributed to Obama to project that narrative in the article. The quote he used was actually a snippet, and the full quote was nothing objectionable. Dana just had to use the snippet to support his little narrative. Keith asked him if he wanted to come on the show to clear up the article/quote, and Dana said he was switching to CNN. And then Dana tried to claim that Keith's staff got mad because he had said something positive about Charlie Black once on the show, but I think he was just saying that because he was pissed that he got caught fudging the quote...other panelists had said positive/neutral things about McCain or his advisors (Howard Fineman, for an example), and I don't think Keith's staff really cared then. Oh yeh, and Dana called people who complained about him using the snippet of the quote to support his narrative "whiners". And he said something after about wanting to go on CNN because they truly purused "balance"...righhhht.

8. I don't think Milbank will ever overcome his "presumptuous" column |
|
he'll always be remembered for that embarrassment, which I think is fair.

even though he kept those thoughts off of the air when he talked to Keith.

14. MSNBC has to have an allotment of right wing tools so they don't appear "biased" |
|
Which is why Pat Buchanan frequently turns up on the Rachel Maddow show.

Milbank just happened to find a job at CNN at the same time as that dustup.
I enjoy his dry humor.
