How the name Obama looks using Japanese Hiragana:

O-ba-ma
and here is Katakana:

O-ba-ma

This might work as Kanji..

It would be cool to see it in Chinese Characters.. or any other characters ..
so if you know that, please post!!

**note: I used the paint program and stored the image on another
website as a jpeg, so thats the best way to post them.

2. Very nice ideas........to see his name in all languages and scripts
I bet his face is recognized by more than half the people in the world, already.

The world might once again see America as a leader in freedom and prosperity in the world, if and when we can find a way to work out of our economic problems with sane responsible democratic capitalism.

Let's hope his journey is without major crises, that the sun will shine upon him from his inauguration day to the last day 8 years hence.

I am so excited that so many Democrats (and some Republicans and others) can unite behind Obama now! We so much need unity.

5. "in Chinese Characters"
Kanji are Chinese characters.

The Hiragana letters are generally used for Japanese words, and the Katakana letters are used for foreign words. So the Japanese town Obama would be spelled with Hiragana letters, while the U.S. Presidential Elect Obama would be spelled with Katakana letters.

Fun post. K&R

6. Yep this is true ...
Edited on Fri Nov-28-08 07:57 PM by AsahinaKimi
While Kanji are Chinese characters, they might be diffrent from
ones used in China. I have seen different ways of spelling a
word with Kanji..so If anyone else had a diffrent set of characters
that be cool.

If anyone knows how to make OBAMA using Arabic characters, or any other kinds
of Characters, please put them here..its so cool to see all these diffrent ways
of showing the word OBAMA!!

I believe this is Obama in Korean

12. His first name is Arabic, so that's easy. I think it's cognate with Hebrew Baruch, blessed...

Although in a baby names list I just looked at, in Hebrew Barack means "lightning."
