What are all the "Obama is Muslim" people gonna do when they see Obama being sworn in on the bible?
Will they justify it by claiming he did it just to try to fool us into thinking he's NOT a Muslim? Will they claim it was a Koran and not a bible? Will they keep believing he's a "secret Muslim" even if he DOESN'T mandate Sharia law in his first term? Just pondering these things...

Maybe he's plotting a conversion to Islam just to piss off a bunch of people. ;-)

31. What *would* be funny is if he held it up for the camera to zoom in on it
and then say later that it was to end speculation about what it was so we can get on with the business of change. (However you define change.)

But I doubt even THAT would change their minds.

Millions of brainwashed Christians insist Obama is a Muslim and nothing will change that. I've got a block of them at work who INSIST he is Muslim and was sworn in on the Koran and nothing will change their minds because their preachers or priests said that.

116. Oh, lord, no, it won't change their minds.
It will just give them another piece of ammunition, in their eyes.

"See, he not only is a Moslem, he's a cowardly and hypocritical one! If he had any guts, he'd be sworn in on his Koran, but no, he throws his own religion AND ours under the bus, so he can gain power! It's only AFTER he's got the power that the White House will become a mosque!!!111!!"

It's too easy to write like that. Yecch. Makes me nauseous.

48. Trust me... there were plenty who feared him.
I live in Keith Ellison's district and he is well liked and respected here. However, there was a lot of outrage in certain camps over his election. He has been called a terrorist, unamerican, all the usual dribble that comes from the people who support Bachmann.

4. They freeaked out over both Rev. Wright AND the 'muslim' claim, so...
They were infuriated that Obama sat in a Christian church for 20 years listening to the Christian preacher Rev. Wright.... which proved he was actually a muslim who would install the sharia as soon as he would take office.

If they can believe BOTH, they'll believe anything... and cling onto it.

89. Right. And they will take their information on what happened from
Rushbo. this is why they are so out there. They rely on second hand biased information.

They believe anything they want to hear, so all some pundit has to say it that it might have been a Koran.

If they do believe it is a Bible, they will just say that the Anti-Christ would naturally falsely swear on a Bible.

They'll claim he is not President, because he falsely swore on the Bible, and it had no effect!

8. Jenmito, please rest your mind on this. I really don't think most people are that worried about it.
This election has proved that the people to whom you refer are a pretty small minority. They can't win elections. They aren't in the mix in terms of any political power any more in this country (outside of their little red state bases).

We all need to be thinking about other things now that the election is over. It is time to move on...

Never once admitting (even if there are pictures) that a bible was used.

It will go email viral and will become an urban legend to be repeated by even more mouth-breeders.

Did some quick bouncing around on the internet and saw some comments by Muslims who consider Obama not a Muslim but a "Mortad".

"Mortad, a description of someone who has committed apostasy by leaving Islam."

Looked up "apostasy" as it pertains to Islam on Wikipedia:

"The four major Sunni and the one major Shia Madh'hab (schools of Islamic jurisprudence) agree that a sane adult male apostate must be executed."

81. Honestly?
Those who are involved in the "hes a secret Muslim" group? No. If he as president made the Southern Baptists the sole and complete ruler of the new "Christian USA" theocracy and stepped down as president in favor of Dobson, they would find a way to twist that as part of his secret Muslim agenda.

Now... I doubt that those people are a majority of even the people who voted for McCain. Maybe %30 percent of the total McCain voters. Still a ridiculous number of people lost in paranoia, I admit.

I expect If Obama Does Very well and public perception is that he has fixed the big problems facing the nation, he may pick up a few points, 5 at the most, in 2012. I do not think that we will see anyone top 60% in my lifetime, no matter how well or poorly a president/party does at governing.

93. You're probably right...
Very thorough answer. Yeah, the hardcore ignorant ones will ALWAYS find a way to justify their prejudice.

And some of the McCain voters probably only went out to vote because PALIN inspired them, and that's scary since she stoked the "terrorist" flames to turn even MORE people against Obama.

Yeah, it will be hard or even impossible for even the most successful president to win with 60% or more due to the differing "values" of people.

58. Claim Obama was sworn in with a Koran that had a bible cover to fool people of course!
It all makes sense, how else could the president hide the fact that he's a secret Muslim!

He probably cut the cover off of a bible himself, and just glued it onto the cover of his Koran!

especially since they've already proven how stupid they are with their belief that Obama's both a secret Muslim and a Christian with a crazy, un-American Reverend.

when they see Obama being sworn in on the bible?

I say this with all due respect, but you don't seem to get it.

He could be sworn in on a giant potato chip with the likeness of haysoos (officially certified by E-bay AND Sarah Goddamned Palin) and they'd still see a Koran.

Just like they still insist he was sworn in for his Senate seat on the Koran. Empirical reality means absolutely nothing to these people.

87. umm...nothing?
Actually, I believe that most of the people who believe he is a Muslim have no idea what that really means. It's just a slur that they parrot. They know that Muslims are "bad", they might know that the 9-11 hijackers were Muslim, but...they don't really know what it means.

99. I think the Bush administration helped put those ideas in their minds...
afterall, he attacked Iraq which had nothing to do with those who attacked us on 9/11. They were both Muslim countries, and Bush himself didn't know the difference between Sunni and Shia. And with the help of Hannity, Limbaugh, etc., these people have "powerful" people backing up or forming their ignorant beliefs.
