1. You were right, of course.
Edited on Sun Nov-30-08 04:58 PM by IanDB1
But on the same day, you also posted a thread saying he would lose.

No, you didn't.

But you probably could have gotten away with it, if you wanted to.

That would've been funny.

3. But inside the body of the message I point out that the subject line is a lie.
A joke is a matter of timing.

Putting the punchline in the subject would ruin the whole thing.

Cover... Discover!

Come on...

Do I have to?

5. Yes, I'm glad you admit your subject line was a lie
but it's a clever way of passing something off, too, by hoping the readers don't read past the subject line.

But if it really bothers you, I'll change it.

42. To be clear, I just posted that for fun.
It was pretty crazy here back in the spring, but those that stuck around came together nicely in the fall. The fact that some are trying to relive those old battles in discussing Obama's cabinet picks is actually kind of sad, isnt' it?

Dammit you're not supposed to remind anyone of that. lol

Hey, the bet they should have taken me up on was the one I offered last week where I offered to bet anyone that Hillary would not be the SOS despite all the rumors. Everyone could've cleaned up on that one but there were no takers. I'd still bet on that, although not necessarily monetarily, only now I'd want 100 to 1 odds at least, since it looks like it's almost a done deal.

17. Actually
it's more to show you can love more than one Democrat even if they're butting heads during a Primary. Too many people think that Hillary supporters never liked Obama or vice versa. You don't have to be soley for one or the other. You can like both.

Having said that....yeah, it was kind of a "pat myself on the back" thing, too. ;)

Man, how does it feel to be right on? (I wouldn't know. I'm consistently wrong about everything.)

ALTHOUGH, even though he was about my 4th or 5th choice in the primaries:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=587565&mesg_id=587571

And read the rest of the thread if you are still wondering how Obama ended up as our President in 2008. This is from 2004. Isn't it amazing? I think a lot of people knew he would one day become President. Very few even knew who he was until 4 years ago.

Edited on Sun Nov-30-08 11:24 PM by Sheepshank
I read your post, and you certainly did hit the nail on the head. I was pretty interested in some of the responses. Many called it correctly on the hard one Primary and the hard campaininging. Many also called "Hussein" the non issue, that was going to be made into an issue by the GOP. But I was a little freaked out over:
jab105 response: "I think Obama is going to be **the one**."

All those biblical connotations thrown out so frequently by the GOP...they could never really decide if there was a Christ-like or anti-christ like quality about Obama and his followers. lol. :dilemma: BUT then, there was McCain's "that one" comment that was so close, as to be chilling in it's similarity to "the one". :sarcasm:

ps you talked about the economy...too bad you didn't remind everyone their 401K's would tank if they didn't "pull out"
