Clark supporter says, "Stop Bashing Dean"
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 10:40 PM by Wife_of_a_Wes_Freak
I posted this as a response, but I am now issuing an open plea.

It's one thing to defend attacks against our candidate, but it's entirely another thing to attack other candidates.

My first reaction to Howard Dean was one of distaste, based soley on the actions of SOME of his supporters at the Florida Convention, and here on the DU board. Lieberman is quickly losing favor in my site for the same reason.

For those of us who think ourselves witty, and cannot resist biting unnecessarily, please stop and think: Do we want our general going down in a flame war?

Let's stick to the issues, participate in healthy, mature debates, and save the bashing for the freepers.

2. And please think about manipulation
A Dean supporter actually made this plea last night. And he or she was right. There are certain people whose sole goal is to manipulate and instigate. We are giving them much enjoyment, I fear.

3. You have my vote!
Not that it matters. You'll get non-bashers to agree with you but that isn't going to stop things, especially with so many spiteful anti-Clark threads abounding.

It's a nice idea though. I'll continue to try and behave more or less judiciously.

Wes Clark. He will make an extraordinary American President.

4. Amen! I bashed Dean long ago...
...but I'm done with that crap. Dean's a great guy. Not my candidate, but no one to slime.

6. Thank you!
We should all stop doing the other sides work for them! I'm afraid that too many trollish *supporters* are bringing out the worst in some of us, and it's just wrong.

We're all going to have to come together pretty soon, and I hope it won't be hard to put all these squabbles behind us. It's a shame that some of the candidates have so-called supporters who are doing them no favors.

We have at least 8 candidates who would be a marked improvement over Bush. We're rich!
