Hey folks! I think I've finally picked my guy for Dem nominee.... |
|
I had liked certain things about Graham until he dropped out...a bit too soft and nice in my book, though.
I liked the idea of Clark. Liked Kerry for awhile, and I liked Edwards WAAYYYYY back when. Now let me say I am ALL FOR DEAN!!!
I love the fact that this campaign of his is p!ssing off so many people and mobilizing the electorate. I love that Bush is tilting leftward in his wacky proposals (now making illegals in this country legal).
I will do as Dean said and support ANY nominee that comes out of this, but I really believe now he is viable. This is something the attacks by fellow Democrats has proved to me. I'm still unsure about SuperDelegates and how they can keep him locked out of nomination, but I will push to see he gets enough votes to kill any possibility of them being effective.
There are many aspects of his positions and demeanor that have given me this momentum toward his camp, but his centrist views despite his social liberal policies in the past are something most of America could live with. Teamed with a genuine foreign policy guy like Wesley Clark would be tremendous. Hey, could you imagine if Dean wins and then asks AL GORE to be his VEEP? Well, I don't know. It just sounds good to me.
Sooooo.....I am very tired of all I've seen in 2003. I'm sorry to see the deaths and injuries continuing in Iraq, but a Democratic administration WILL take over from these bastards that are crazier than sh!thous rats. They will undo all or most of the damage abroad and at home.
GO HOWARD DEAN! Piss off the establishment! DEAN FOR AMERICA!

I just went to another meetup of Dean supporters last night, man the hope is palpable, and the work from just our group is inspiring. Hope you have similar experiences.

3. Dean Won't Fly Outside IA and NH |
|
Dean may pull out narrow victories in Iowa and NH, but after that I don't think he will keep his lead. Watch for Clark, Edwards or Kerry to emerge as the ultimate winner.

8. that may very well be the case. here's what I know: |
|
I barely knew about Dean in the beginning of 2003 and now he has inspired confidence in me. I know much of the public is behind us activist types in their consciousness of political figures. He is showing up on magazine covers, tv, front pages of newspapers, etc.
Whether he has enough momentum and common, main street appeal to get him through the southern states and midwest like Missouri...we'll see. I think he has a great chance now.
But as I said. Out of ALL the viable candidates...there's hardly any I couldn't get excited about. I wouldn't be thrilled about Lieberman, but just about every other candidate would get me shaking the bushes for more voters.

17. I dont wish to start a war... |

But according to the polling in NH, it's not going to be a narrow victory, and seeing as Dean is beating Kerry even in Massachusetts, Kerry seems in a little bit of strife. In regard to other states, may i direct you to www.politics1.com/blog.htm and look for the stories on the 1/7/03 ("WAIT, KERRY IS STILL RUNNING?"), 12/30/03 ("OOPS, HE DID IT AGAIN") and on 12/26/03 ("DEAN NOW LEADING JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE")... Very interesting...

I spent my time reviewing the candidates. When I heard that Clark was running, I had already started leaning toward Dean. I spent some time researching Clark, hearing what his supporters had to say.. and how they conducted themselves, and Dean remained my #1 guy. I actually liked Gephardt years ago.. but I think he's become too mainstream, because of the constituency he serves. Kerry, also a consideration, but he didn't say anything that resonated with me. I like Kucinich, but I realized that even though he hadn't the name recognition Dean had, somehow Dean was able to overcome that in a big way.
Mostly.. I like Dean because I like what he has to say. I like that he's a bit angry sometimes.. cuz man, I'm angry too!! I like that he actually has the guts to criticize the likes of the right-wing, for-profit preachers that are working with GOP to take over. I like that he says just what I'm thinking! I've just connected totally with his message. I know that people on DU really get pretty intense slamming each others choices for nominee.. but if someone really connects with you, no amount of badgering, cajoling, or insults will make you change how you feel.
You'll enjoy being part of the Dean movement. There are so many cool opportunities and cool people for you to experience. :toast:

Howard Dean will make an excellent president. And in case your wondering, Dean currently has more SuperDelegates than any other candidate. It's not something I would worry about for now.
Welcome aboard.

<“I'm sorry to see the deaths and injuries continuing in Iraq, but a Democratic administration WILL take over from these bastards that are crazier than sh!thous rats. They will undo all or most of the damage abroad and at home.”>
And just what do you see different between what Governor Dean proposes to do in Iraq in the next 4 years and what President Bush proposes to do in Iraq in the next 4 years?
Now compare that to Congressman Kucinich’s plan.

so...I am a pragmatist. I know we can't just rip our guys out of there and let the sick killers fill the vacuum. You have to think like that too. There's fairy land and then there's the real world. You know?

in Iraq will President Dean as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces escalate our fighting as an occupation army? Is his goal in Iraq, as our next president, to create a democratic Iraq? How many years will the US taxpayers be paying for this war?

|
and we will be well on our way to getting the Iraqis toward stability with the U.N. involved. You have to deal with the situation as it is. You can't just pull out of there. You know that. Then you'll have hostile people of all Iraqi ethnicities fighting the US
