There have been no further terrorist attacks on American soil for 7 years!!!! |
|
As far as I'm concerned, the one on 911 would have never happened if Gore had been POTUS!
Just heard another rw shill repeat that bullshit again on Hardball. GAG!
Sorry, just had to get it out of my system.

Everything is secret. 9/11 details are secret. The torture program is secret. The "TSP" program is secret.
GOP cheerleaders accept the propaganda of the Bush administration at face value. IMO they do this because they believe authoritarian cheerleading is the same thing as patriotism.

5. As I recall, 911 had a lot more to do with Cheney and an oil pipeline in Afghanistan. |
|
911 was the answer to Cheney.
I don't have any of that research anymore, so take it as my 2 cents, FWIW.
I do recall one quote from that time from Darth. Paraphrased "We'll carpet your street with gold, or with bombs."

THEY were caught off guard almost eight months into their stewardship. If that doesn't get their little pet goat, then remind them that it was the SAME TARGET, too...

IMHO the Bush (mis-)administration has launched several terrorist attacks against our country except that instead of using bombs they've used endless war, illegal surveillance, torture and rendition, indefinite detention, lack of adherence to the constitution, neglect of fellow citizens, and "disaster capitalism" to severely damage our once great country if not bring it perilously close to the brink of destruction. The fact that we had legitimate elections (albeit still not fully "free and fair") last year is a testament to the fact that the veil of the dark side has not yet been able to completely smother our once great republic but I'm not sure if things have looked bleaker for us any other time else in recent history. Back in 2002-2003 I actually fully expected Bush to declare himself Emperor (with full acclimation by Congress-Republicans AND Democrats alike) and that the rest of us would be living under his and Cheney's (or just Cheney's) "Empire" by now. The scary thing for me is that the fact that we're not living in a Bush dictatorship right now is probably more due to their unmistakably obvious incompetence that even they couldn't cover up than the hard work of any serious "loyal opposition" led by the "liberal media" and Democrats in Congress- although I certainly don't mean to suggest that there weren't at least some brave individuals within the media, Democratic Party, and elsewhere (i.e. here) that actively (and loudly) stood up to Bush, et. al and exposed them for the charlatans and thugs they are.

30. I completely agree about President Gore |
|
And also too might point out that terrorist attacks are rare and that they blew the 19 people for this century willing to do such a thing on 911. The right continues with its insane idea that anybody of the Muslim religion is willing to do such a thing. It's really not true.
Timothy McVeigh made a terror attack, yet not every white man is supposed to be considered willing to do it. Terrorists are rare, period. It was so stupid for us, as a people, to buy that it would occur over and over again and therefore we must take so many steps to prevent it.

33. How about the terror of those forced to live in crime ridden neighborhoods... |
|
Or the terror of finding out you have a treatable serious disease and you don't have insurance...
Or the terror of working under conditions that would make Upton Sinclair blush...
Or the terror of being out of the Army, smack in your middle age and getting a recall notices...
Or the terror of finding your retirement nest egg has been shredded to twigs by unscrupulous unregulated financial criminals...
Or just waking up and knowing that the country has slipped so far from the ideals of Jefferson and Adams and King and Lincoln that we may never recapture the true American Spirit...
That, Mr. Bush, is true terror, not the trumped up one in a billion chance that some crazed person will blow themselves up and take you with them.
