I Applaud President Obama's Decision to push "Don't Ask Don't Tell" to the Forefront..... |
|
He has opened the door on an argument that didn't exist when the Don't Ask Don't Tell" was originally written into the guidelines.
Gays died on 9/11.
Gays have died serving their country in Iraq.
Gays have died serving their country in Afghanistan.
Gays have died in every single war ever fought in the history of mankind.
In a time when our military is literally broken from overdeployment we continue to turn some away because they are honest about their sexual orientation.
I'm happy that the transition team is moving quickly to once and for all get this issue out of the debate over equal rights. It's a gateway to bigger and better things for the gay community.

and I think Obama will listen to his critics. Contrary to the common belief in this particular forum, criticism is not a bad thing when there is also hope for change.
