It still has not sunk in yet....in just a few more hours its gonna hit me hard |
|
It wont be a reality till i actually SEE Obama take the oath.
Truthfully I have not celebrated him winning yet.
I thought when i heard he won on election night I would lose it. Open the front door and scream hallelujah or 'sompin.
All i felt (and have felt) is relieved.
I guess my hopes have been dashed to many times over the last 8 years, starting with Bush vs Gore and it just kept getting worse.
It wont be real till its real
anyone else know what I am talkin 'bout?

1. Yeah. I do. It's hard to work it up, but the funny thing is - I'm overcoming it. |

Sort of an odd feeling to just let your feelings go. Feels like reckless abandon. But by now I've become pretty comfortable with the idea that he DID win and he WILL be president and for all intents and purposes, he already is. And it's almost overwhelming to see the coverage - the crowds, the smiles, the great uplifting spirit you see in face after face after face after face, the signs, the placards people are carrying, the buttons and T-shirts and other stuff they're wearing, the exuberant shouting and glee. We're just ALL - SO HAPPY!!! It's so new and wonderful after So Damned Long! It's like - "gee, do I dare just let go and savor it and embrace it and acknowledge its total reality?" I've been kicking that one around in my head for some time now, too.
Hey, as of noon eastern...

It is almost as if to expect we'll turn on our TV and hear someone slobber all over himself and mangle the english language. It will be an oddity to turn on the radio and hear, "President Obama said today that....."
No more Bush. Our national nightmare is over.
:toast:  :woohoo:  :toast:
Why did this have to happen to us?
I'm going to party all day!!!

4. Welcome to DU! MAN has it been a long eight years. |
|
Some of us have clung to each other here as though to floating pieces of wood after the boat's gone down.
I cannot tell you how relieved I feel knowing that this era is OVER!!!! I swear, I feel like I've been a frickin' hostage for eight years.
