I'm sure Inauguration pics were posted but I have no links because still recuperating from the cold. |

Plus I've been inactive.
Any links to pics threads?
I took a bunch of pics of the crowds on I-395 freeway/tunnel (packing the mile-long tunnel!) and along the Washington Monument, but haven't figured out how to convert them yet.
I also saw Marine One leaving the area. People were shouting "Bye bye, Bush!" Tried to take a pic but that's when the camera phone I'd borrowed conked out.
There are NO GODDAMNED PAY PHONES in the new, corporate sponsored American History Museum, which I visited again for the first time. The kindly docent at the so-called "information center" looked at me like I was crazy. "Most people have cell phones!" he lectured me.
Then he made me feel like a second class citizen trying to use the "information phone" on their goddamned desk.
This is a QUARTER MILE LONG PUBLIC BUILDING, you idiots!
And of course all the interesting exhibits have been replaced by "the so-and-so family memorial room of recently invented consumer products"

the Bettmann archive online.
The Corbis site has 44 pages of photographs. No kidding.
And, no, there aren't payphones any more. Fortunately, most folks will let you borrow theirs for a local call.
But I can't hear that well on a lot of cellulars, or I'd own one.
