I ADMIRE Senator Mitch McConnell.
That's right! I really do admire him. McConnell is a much more effective minority leader than Mr. Milquetoast, Harry Reid ever was.

1. Well isn't that special
So he's steadfast in his wrongness. So was Bush. You admire him also?

3. He's a fucking piece of shit!
Reid is a wuss, but McConnell is an asshole of the first magnitude. There's no reason to admire him because he gets a bunch of idiotic robotic repuke fucking shit-bags to do what they're told. :wtf:

5. Republicans spent close to 40 years in the minority
Edited on Mon Feb-02-09 10:53 PM by AllentownJake
They learned how to do it alot more effectively than we did.

Or maybe not...if the behavior continues they stand a chance of losing more seats in 2010.

7. I can't get past laughing out loud every time I see him...which is completely unfair,
I KNOW - but the day that Keith Olbermann said (I paraphrase), "you know... Mitch McConnell, the guy who looks like someone who's being perpetually bombarded with flashbulbs". I wish I had the exact quote, because it was a lot better - and funnier.... and that is so WRONG! I feel terrible.

On a more sober note - I have gotten the sense that whatever courage he seems to present is not based on goodness but on partisan protectionism and/or self-interest. I certainly could be wrong, but that's the sense I have based on what I've read and learned (when I am not giggling), and that - to me - is not effectiveness or admirable.

But I see your point... it's ironic we have the people we do in certain leadership positions because it doesn't seem like a good fit, does it?

I just can't shake the concern that there is too much focus on who should get to be in charge to launch the lifeboats (or who thinks they know the best way to do it), when the argument itself will ensure that we all go down with the ship. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me....

8. Republicans are always better at framing the debate with the media
Democrats haven't figured it out yet. But they really lack savvy politicians in leadership roles.

14. The media always favors the republicans. Media Matters just put out another study
showing that the media has more than twice as many republican talking heads critiquing policy than democrats.

9. Remember the words of of Will Rogers,
"I'm not a member of any organized political party; I'm a Democrat."

Trying to lead Democrats is like herding Cats. Leading Republicans is like herding Sheep.

This 60 vote or filibuster thing is amazing. I don't remeber this from years ago.

13. GROSS
.
.

Mitch McConnell reminds me of an albino soft-shelled turtle.

Except that the soft-shelled turtle has more of a personality!

Good grief Pryderi.
