Big Deal Daschle Withdrew, Ho Hum, Move On
I love how the media thinks that stories like a nominee withdrawing his/her name because of poor vetting resonates with the American people. In less than a week, this story will disappear. Anyone remember Zoe Baird? Anyone? Anyone?

Look, we're in the beginning stages of a second great depression, and the American people care about what this economy is going to do over this year and next, not a HHS nominee.

Obama's big problem is that his stimulus package is not big enough nor does it have enough infrastructure in it to make a difference in the economy.

Obama and the Dems will be judged by the state of the economy in the Fall of 2010. If it's perceived as improving, then the Dems and Obama can breathe easier. If it's not improving, then say hello to divided government once again.

1. Zoe Baird? true. Janet Reno was Clinton's third choice for Attorney General.
Yes, this is just a temporary story--in the end no big deal as long as we can get a good nominee in the end.

6. I remember Zoe Baird
It's not a big deal - this seems to happen a lot these days, but I do tend to remember these issues 'cause I'm a politically interested person.
