Why is the Media acting like Withdrawing is worse than Not Withdrawing?
If one withdraws, then they never get to serve, right?

Isn't that a good thing for the government?

So why is a withdrawal being interpreted as something nefarious?

What Am I missing here?

1. Probably the assumption that if he's dropping out, it's worse than we thought.
It's not fair, but that's my best guess.

2. Because they've become sharks out for blood.
I can't even watch the news anymore. It's sickening. The pressers are worse. Fine time to wake up, asshats. This is the guy trying to fix the mess you enabled the past 8 years, and you're ripping him to pieces. Who thinks the MSM and the 'pubs are both trying to make President Obama irrelevant, and why? It's fucking clear to me what's going on.

4. Because it's democrats and not republicans. Were this a
republican administration, we would have to throw up while the media fawns over what great patriots these nominees were.

5. The reporters wouldn't stop asking about Obama's vetting process...
and why HE felt Daschle was good enough to join the admin. despite his problems since Gibbs kept saying Daschle REQUESTED his name be withdrawn. "What ARE the standards for nominees when being vetted?"

6. Becasue they need a story.
They had two possiblities:
1) Daschle withdraws. Response: attack and criticize
2) Daschle does not withdraw. Response: attack and criticize.

16. Hey,
Either Daschle withdrew or the administration only pushed him out *after* the fallout, so pick your poison it's still not a good look. Man if you saw the ribbing I got super bowl day by my mostly conservative social network, it was one for the ages I must say. Some of the more high-profile picks have definitely come with some political baggage, no doubt about it.

17. Welcome to DU, nod factor.
I don't have any conservative friends and I'm not in love with most of Obama's picks.

BUT, the process is working. Obama is not recruiting insider criminals to head up the regulatory agencies like Junior did and I'm sure he won't give criminals the Medal of Freedom like the torture president did, either.

That's what this process is for, to catch problems.

What is being missed here is that Bush hired a bunch of convicted felons to his administration and no one said "boo!". Search "Iran Contra Bush Administration" and get an eyeful.

Thank goodness, this is a new day. :)
