U.S. Plans to Curb Executive Pay for Bailout Recipients
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is expected to impose a cap of $500,000 for top executives at companies that receive large amounts of bailout money, according to people familiar with the plan.

Executives would also be prohibited from receiving any bonuses above their base pay, except for normal stock dividends.

President Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner plan to announce the executive compensation plan on Wednesday morning at the White House.

1. This is the first time I've seen that it includes bonuses. Definitely a reason they are piling
on Obama. Doesn't seem that anyone except the cheaters and conspirators from previous administrations are granted carte blanche with the MSM or the corporate world.

On the topic itself, I think this is a great start, but I believe it would be more effective if it were more extensive and covered some other banking sectors, primarily investment institutions and others heavily involved in the market.

These decisions are fantastic, but they are going to cause a shit-storm of debate and rebuttal from the pukes, MSM, corporate world, and many others we're not aware of. I'm hoping these issues don't escalate to a level that will create potential obstacles for Obama beyond those that will exist in his policy and normal day-to-day interactions.

It seems that now that we finally have an incredibly capable and potentially historic President in office, he is receiving potential blow-back from the MSM, corporate world, military, and virtually every other institution that feels a potential threat from his CHANGE.

It is going to help Obama's efforts quite a bit when Plouffe gets his "million-mouthed dog" PR machine made up of the voters and campaign supporters in action via the same internet outreach he orchestrated during the campaign. Until then, we can all speak the truth on these issues and keep one another informed.

2. It's a bit frightening......the backlash that has already started,
but it's Bigtime politics I guess, and our President is quite aware of what he is facing.

3. It is a bit frightening, and I'm sure much of it is intended to be just that, frightening, however
Obama is not the usual political target that these hacks are used to abusing. He is a different opponent and force altogether. It will be a telling sign of what's to come when the likely failure of these aggressive fear-based tactics transition either into a un-admitted complacency and acceptance of this CHANGE or when things get ratcheted up a level and become even more forceful and direct in their attacks. That is the point at which things could truly become frightening.

4. The media's never been for Obama.
The Rupert Murdochs running big media have been in the tank for the right-wing since the beginning.

5. I'm glad to see there will be concrete restrictions.
It takes a lot of guts to institute something like this, and I was worried Obama would be too deferential and unwilling to rock the boat.
