The GOP has and always will be willing to screw the country to keep themselves in power |
|
President George H.W. Bush called President Reagan's economic theories voodoo economics. For months he went out on the campaign stump and railed against trickle down economic theories. He than went about helping the GOP to implement them for 12 years not because he believed in them but because the bad idea was easy to sell to dumbasses and it won elections. It also filled the GOP coffers with money to sell the lie.
President Bill Clinton reached across the aisle after the 1994 elections. He implemented several componenets of the Contract for America. His repayment was being impeached. Not because he wasn't willing to work with the Republicans. He had beat them in an election and therefore he was the enemy.
Our democratic senators and representatives were bullied into supporting the war in Iraq. Max Cleland fearing his re-election chances made the horrible mistake for voting for it. His repayment. A Vietnam Veteran who lost limbs on the battle field was called a traitor by a draft dodger who got 5 student deferments from the draft in Vietnam. That's right the guy who fought for his country was a traitor while the guy who hid behind deferments was a hero. Max's only crime was he had a D behind his name.
Now do we honestly believe the same people who will sell out their principles so easily, impeach a President for having the audacity of winning an election, and smear a man who lost part of himself in a war fighting for his country in favor of a draft dodger would not let the American People suffer so that they can regain power.
These people cannot be negotiated with, they cannot be bargained with, they cannot be reasoned with. The only thing they are interested in is power. They will lie, steal, smear, obstruct, murder, etc. Anything to keep themselves in power. I'm sure there are a few Republicans out there who are honorable men and women and actually love their country but they are vastly outnumbered by the filth that has run that party since Richard Nixon.
Bipartisanship is impossible when the party your trying to work with doesn't value the people of the country but only values keeping themselves in power or regaining power. Negotiating with Iran is going to be easier than negotiating with the Republican Party.

2. Republicans care about PARTY and not about PEOPLE. |
|
It is also unfortunate that we have a media that loves when Republicans are in power. Obama will be fighting the media his entire time in office. He tries to be open and honest, but they don't care. The media is willing to screw the country too in order to make sure they keep themselves in power and money.

4. Unfortunately there are those who serve and those who serve themselves |
|
Serving yourself isn't about patriotism or working towards a better country. It's about getting yours.

5. Jake, the Republicans are doing exactly the same thing they always do, |
|
but there are a lot more people who see them as the destructive liars and criminals they really are - and they will be responsible for their own demise. I think they have only just started to fall apart, and the next few months will be very interesting to watch them do it.
If you are too young to have experiences Watergate, just watch the next few months of GOP insanity....
