Here we go-"The new president, seen by some as arrogant," + Tapper on "embarassing day"
As expected the MSM is trying to pile on Obama, bring him down some notches, and create the illusion that he must now bend to establishment DC's whims

Analysis: Daschle debacle humbles Obama
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090203/ap_on_an/obama_cutting_losses_analysis_1

The new president, seen by some as arrogant, was anything but on Tuesday.

In other words, Obama may be more ordinary than some admirers would like to admit. He will surely struggle, over the coming weeks and months, with the economy, health care, military matters and Congress, much as other presidents have.

ABC News – Tapper on Obama's Embarrassing Day

On a tough day, Obama escapes for a while
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090203/D964BKD01.html
WASHINGTON (AP) - On the rockiest day of his young administration, President Barack Obama did what surely made him happy for a while.

He left.

With little notice, the president and first lady Michelle Obama bolted the gated compound of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in their tank of a limousine on Tuesday. They ended up at a Washington public school, greeted by children who could not care less about the collapse of a Cabinet secretary nomination.

Let's see how politico leads
Obama: I'm sorry, so sorry
Had a bad day?
Daschle crash: A taxing time for Obama
The Huddle: Dem doldrums
Obama sells stimulus to 2nd graders

As usual politico is a conduit to get Drudge into the mainstream media

3. Add that bitch MoDo to the mix
"It took Daschle’s resignation to shake the president out of his arrogant attitude that his charmed circle doesn’t have to abide by the lofty standards he lectured the rest of us about for two years."

I guess the media meme will be Obama = Arrogant

8. How dare he win an election when they were just SURE they could put him away
and how DARE he get 53% of the vote in as divided a nation (by them) as we have seen in over 140 years

How dare he. He is so arrogant. He probably doesn't wake every morning to find out what they think of him.

9. I have a theory on MoDo's perpetual snark...

it's a way for her to stay relevant.

What does she do? What does she contribute to public dialogue?

Even though I don't agree with any or all of what they write, at least the other oped writers (save Kristol) at the NYT add in tidbits of new facts, etc. into their columns.

Her column is like a high school gossip column. Cute, snide, flirty.....she will most likely end up doing to Obama what she has done to the Clintons. She is worthless.

ed: add.

11. Totally agree
She isn't relevant and hasn't been for a long, long time. I wonder why she gets to keep her column since it's so devoid of anything of value.

On a side note, I've heard the words "arrogant" and "lecture" a few times now in different sources. Must be the new frame for Obama.

12. I also think that so much of her "analysis" is based on the personal
Edited on Wed Feb-04-09 01:39 PM by rvablue
during the primaries when Obama gave her the time of day, she loved to include little interludes of their mini conversations, once again, showing her relevance that she was getting attention from the candidate.

Now that he's President and a very, very busy man, I'm sure she's not showing up on the radar. Hence, the jabs at him being "arrogant" so once again she can get her puny little ego fed by a little one-on-one interaction with the President.

And, so it goes. The Clinton's didn't play her little game of "I need access in order to feel relevant and advertise it in my column how important I am," hence the treatment they got.

She's so lame and transparent....and given that, kind of a sad figure in a way.

4. and many Dems still don't get it - the corporate media exaggerated all this to get the storyline
they intended. They suffered a setback in the first presidential election post Katrina where they could not deliver the protection Bush and GOP needed - but, with the election over, they can now renew their persistent wearing away at their specific Dem targets. They DO want Obama to bend to the backlash and put MORE center right corporatists into his administration.
