The panel on Morning Joe just does. not. get. it.
I've only been watching for 30 mins.

First, they discuss the executive order President Obama is going to sign, capping executive pay at $500,000 for executives at banks receiving bailout money. They also highlight how poor Wells Fargo (receiving of $25 billion in bailout money) was forced to cancel their Vegas vacation for "top-performing" employees.

They lament how business needs those perks to encourage them to work hard. Poor, poor misunderstood business.

What they don't seem to have a freaking CLUE about is as "hard" as a business man or woman will ever work, it will never be as "hard" as blue-collar manual labor. And our "captains of industry" really expect working men and women, many of whom are struggling to keep their homes and feed their families, to pay for their slap-on-the-back bonuses and exorbitant salaries?

And I thought Joe was for the "common man"?

Please. Let them be reminded that when the government guaranteed Chrysler money years ago, Lee Iacocca took only a $1 per year salary until the company turned around.

:eyes:

As if that weren't enough, they then bring Nancy Snyderman on to lament that the school lunch provision in the bailout package will make kids fat because it won't provide organic fruits and vegetables.

Well Nancy, what else shall the hungry eat? Cake, perhaps?

:puke:

Then of course MSNBC starts talking about President Obama's "plunging" poll numbers (which actually rose 2 points yesterday, fyi). That bit is such BS that even Chuck Todd laughed at it and wouldn't bite.

Thanks for reading my rant. I've definitely been reminded this morning why I stopped listening to the MSM.

1. Surprised at Todd
Wow, really? Chuck Todd didn't jump on that crap about the poll numbers? Color me shocked. He's been such a pain in the ass lately. I'm really ... wow. Amazing.

3. I am utterly amazed how many DU'ers watch that boob.
Every morning here - Scaborough said this, Scaborough said that.

What is the attraction to him?

4. Is there something better to watch at 8:00 am?
That pertains to politics or news?

It's all crap.

7. Go back to Seinfeld for your answer
We're repulsed by him, yet drawn to him.

"He is a loathsome, offensive brute, yet i can't look away..."

8. He's obsessed with being smart/not dumb.
that's how he operates. Well, he operates on being smugly superior and knowing "how things really work", but usually, it comes down to this is smart/that is stupid.
viewers appreciate that he points out when things are dumb.
they appreciate that he gives some respect to people who he decides are smart, even if he disagrees with them.

10. I agree. If we all stopped watching, I'm telling you, their line up would change
most low info voters at that time are watching TODAY or GM.

And the RWers aren't watching Joe and Mika, they are watching those crazy nutjobs over at Faux.

So, if those of us who like MSNBC b/c of KO and Rachel simply refused to tune in at all (which I already do not watch) then the suits over there would change the format.

People don't realize, I think, that it doesn't matter if you are not a Neilsen household if you have cable -- they can tell whenever and for how long you watch.

And as the OP said, he only watched for 1/2 hour, but they know that, and given the alternatives, that is good enough for them.

DUers must turn them off altogether!

5. Is there a list of MSNBC email addies?
All I can find on the Joe website is "Send us interesting or funny videos and links" for Joe.. and NO email functions on most of the other pages..

of course they tell us "You can also mail a letter to:

NBC News
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, N.Y. 10112"

. . feh
