Rasmussen has Obama approval at 62 percent.
I believe that is one percent higher than yesterday. With al this noise about nominees and the stimulus bill, he still holding up pretty good.

1. I am so sick of these "polls"
I have never been polled in my life. They focus so much on these numbers, which are probably not even that accurate.

2. Am I the only one who thinks this "approval" shit shouldn't even start until
he's been in office a couple MONTHS?

6. YAWN. He's been in office two weeks
I wouldn't worry about approval ratings.

Having said that, people are losing jobs left and right. And nothing has been done. So you expect people to be pissed at the government.

7. Why is anybody upset by these numbers? They are awesome!
Any President that polls in the 60's is very well liked indeed and pretty much invulnerable at re-election time. As long as Obama stays in this region he will get re-elected in a landslide.

8. Yep, however we're to new to this to be even thinking re-election time.
Business at hand first.

Am I the only one here that believes Obama knew this would be a difficult start?

9. Yeah but being popular is also good for getting your agenda passed.
A Congress that sees Obama as popular is going to pass his agenda in the hopes that some of that popularity will rub off on them.

When W was at 24% and Congress was about the same, they felt no need to follow his lead.

I think that with BHO at 62% and Congress doing much worse, they'll be happy to get along and go along with him.

11. What you say is rational but these a-holes repubs in Congress are not.
I really don't understand where they think they're going with their intransigence. I think they just must be clueless...

12. The smart ones will cave - the politically suicidal ones like Mitch McConnell will throw tantrums.
I hate Mitch.

If I lived in Kentucky, I'd have that on a bumper sticker on my car.

13. Let's see how this all plays out. I think Obama will emerge the winner here
even if the pubs are feeling boastful right now. There's gonna be a cold dawn to await them...

15. The false meme is that Obama's numbers are dropping like a stone.....
See here for public opinion manipulation as the stimulus package goes up for a vote: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=8165965&mesg_id=8165965
