When the healthcare fight begins in earnest |
|
remember the scare tactics of last time. These were and still are the major talking points of people against healthcare reform
Too big, too complex, government intervention, loss of choice and control of doctors, bureaucracy, socialism, rationing, long waits for service, UnAmerican, inefficient, deficits, the government doesn't do anything right, tax dollars, blah blah blah blah
Listen to Sean Hannity any day of the week and he usually does a Reader's Digest condensed version of all the above talking points.
I think one of the best and most concise arguments to make is that America is at a disadvantage in a world economy because we still tie healthcare to employment and it's like tying concrete blocks to the feet of our industries. Being freed from the burden of providing healthcare would also be a huge stimulus for small businesses, it would encourage entrepreneur ism. So far from being the grey overcoat of socialism, it will liberate all of us to invest in and build a stronger capitalist America. It also gives all Americans greater mobility to move and work where they choose and not to be involuntarily indentured to a particular company due to benefits. Lowered costs will put money in all Americans pockets. It means that even if you lose your job, you will not lose access to healthcare.

1. There is the rub "It means that even if you lose your job, you will not lose access to health care."... |
|
The Corporatists can not have that

2. this already started with the republican talking points |
|
trying Daschle in the court of public opinion via the media.
They knew he was our best hope.
And the last thing they want is for us to get this passed.

4. Daschle advocated single-payer government funded universal health care? |
|
THAT is our only hope - and Daschle never suggested anything of the kind. As i understand it he's supported the same universal health insurance scam that Hillary and Obama both advocated in their slightly different versions.

3. Hey, all you congress critters, it is a very simple bit of logic: |
|
Americans do not want our military all over the world fighting wars. Americans do not want ridiculous corporate bail-outs and over the top compensation.
Americans want proper, affordable health care.
Bring the servicemen and women home, design and implement a universal health care plan. It is about time we took care of our own.
I well remember a few years ago hearing all the talk about not being able to afford universal health care. Where did the money come from just a few years later to start and pay for an illegal war. Our wallets.
Now these same wallets are empty and we still have no health care that is affordable.
Sometimes I wonder what they really do in DC. I feel sorry for Obama. He has to deal with all this bipartisan baloney and he has been there only 2 weeks. I believe he is trying but I'm up to my gills in politicians right now. No-one will let him do his job without criticism.
I know Marie Antoinette never said "Let then eat cake" but it sure feels that way as I follow what is going on for the bulk of we, the people.
