Yes, President Obama it's time to buy American & time to pullout from the World Trade Organization |

Sucking manufacturing and jobs from our country has not worked. As a result we are living a disaster few of us ever could have imagined.
President Obama, do not bow down to the European Union on this issue. It's time for us to kiss the World Trade Organization good-bye, and it's time to loudly and clearly promote buy American in the USA.

1. Like that will ever happen. |
|
It would kick some serious ass but it will never happen.

2. This is an AMERICAN stimulus... |
|
Not a WTO stimulus!
If I hear one more RW shithead say crap like, "We don't want to start any trade wars!" I'm going to puke! :puke:
How can we help any other country when ours is in shambles?

4. I agree with the buy American Provision. But do you really think we can piss China off? |

They pretty much own the country's debt. Can't pull out of the WTO. But the agreements need to seriously be reformed

5. Obviously, if America goes down, a great deal of the rest of the world will go with it. |
|
Other countries might not like the buy American philosophy, but if there aren't any jobs in America, we won't be buying any of their stuff. So, they're going to have to endure a little bit of suffering while America rebuilds its economy, its jobs, and people can afford to once again spend money.
Until that happens, talk of anything else is a waste of time.

6. I don't think we can pull out of The WTO unless we destroy or disband it somehow. |
|
The only thing worse than The WTO would be The WTO working against us.

8. Sorry, but the "Buy American" clause is idiotic. |
|
As soon as you pass it you're guaranteeing governments all over the world retaliate by passing their own legislation redirecting purchases they would have been making from American companies to other sources to compensate. You just end up pissing people off to no ultimate material benefit.
"Hooray... this steel company gets a big government contract!"
"Oops, they get another 5 contracts to foreign customers cancelled when those nations governments institute their own "buy domestic" requirements in response."
Yeah, that'll accomplish a whole lot.
