I will have to look into that, as I purchased a home last year. bummer.

4. Every tax law that was ever passed
usually has a list of prohibited transactions, to avoid the self-dealing you describe. I'm sure this legislation has the same safeguards.

But, there may be nothing to prevent a criss-cross. I sell my house to you, you sell yours to me. However, last year's tax break was for first-time homebuyers only, and I haven't seen the new proposed legislation.

6. This may be stripped out of the final bill by Democrats depending on how Republicans behave.
Or it may be modified. It's supposed to spur future buying of primary homes, not subsidize past purchases,
which may explain your dismay.
