Deep Impact, Morgan Freeman and the Economic Stimulus Plan

Watching this whole stimulus bill get kicked around by the Repukes makes me think about the movie Deep Impact. They want to water the bill down so that it does absolutely nothing to stimulate the economy.

If an asteroid was headed straight for earth, would they be haggling over whether the bill to stop it should be 900 billion or 800 billion? In Deep Impact, President Morgan Freeman had pulled together a secret team to go up on that rock and blow it apart. Thing is, they didn't bring enough nuke power to blow it to smithereens and the whole thing was a bust. They ended up with two rocks hurdling towards earth.

I'm afraid that if this stimulus isn't big enough or the "right" kind of stimulus, we may have two problems instead of one. A bigger deficit with nothing to show for it and a major economic depression and the break down of law and order.

1. The hold up now is with the Blue Dogs in the Senate.

Sadly, Jim Webb is one of them holding up the bill to cut "the pork."

I can NOT relate to Blue Dogs/DLC/New Way "democrats." :(
