The more negative everyone else around me goes, the more positive I feel about things |
|
I am watching, and listening, and the more "people", "talking heads" etc., chase their tails around the more positive I feel about moving forward.
I watched Morning Joe, the Fox group, CNN, MSNBC, and the more they chatter, the more they contradict themselves and their own stated opinions from last week, the week before, etc.
They are blowing like leaves in the wind, and changing direction every time a new person comes in with a different perspective.
I am glad Obama is encouraging all these pundits to voice their views publicly. (a much different scenario than the last administration) It has become quite apparent they have NO SOLUTIONS!. It looks to me, as if we are the only game in town with a connected idea on how to get us through this.
I hope this rest of the population is catching on to this.
Would make our collective jobs much easier.

1. Yes, I started making myself miserable over this stimulus bill and then I suddenly |
|
thought "Hey! Have a little faith. The guy's president and my worrying about him isn't doing any good."
These pundits will never change. They will pounce on any shred they can to do their shows. The vast majority of Americans don't even know they are there.
Plus, folks, every day the Obama administration turns around another bad executive decision made by Bush. Every day I read these and I am silently SO grateful!
Buck up everybody!

3. yesterday, I decided.... |
|
something very similar... I realized I was getting very bogged down with all the negativity... and how it was clouding the way I was feeling and acting.
So, I decided to change my focus...and look for what was going right in my life... rather than all the myriad of things I have been in a stew about... I simply stopped the worries when I recognised them and lessened my exposure to MSM. It's hard at first, because of the entrenched habits of thought... yet by the end of the day, I was much happier and felt a sense of hope again.

4. it's hard to not get negative |
|
with these morons that call themselves "media" they think they know what would work. The fact is no one knows. I hope this plan works even if it just slows the problem. I have a feeling that even if the economy picks up, the repukes and media will still find a way to turn it around and say it didn't work.

9. For me, it's the long winter. I feel isolated, cold and right now I have a big health issue |
|
hanging over my head and another one for my husband's health. Turning on the talk shows every day just drives me deeper into disappointment and worry, so I must stop. Caring is fine and good but flapping one's arms and getting frantic will not change anything.

5. If I were on one fo those shows |
|
I'd love to start off with, "What is more important today, the jacket or the economy? I mean, which would you like me to speak to? I leave it to you, as your job is to determine what the American people need to be informed about." LET'S RUMBLE!
Then I"d love to launch into "What ideas have you heard that you think we should be looking at? What experts have you had on? Were they all non-partisan? Did you do a cursory background check as to their potential conflicts of interest before they were a guest and you presented their opinion as viable enough to merit airing? Just what do you think is the responsibility of the press in this situation and how does it differ from 911, when you were all calling for support of the President and had on no one but partisan supporters or touchy-feely stories meant to manipulate the American people into deeper grief and angst?"
Needless to say, I have not been asked....

6. It started for me about 2 days ago. I was getting too much information |
|
and most of it was negative. I stepped away from all of it and feel much better for it. I made some calls and shot off a few emails. I hid every thread here that was on some "other" shit. Then last night the speech my President gave was all I needed to hear to remind me that he's got this and he's not stupid!

7. Too much uniformed speculation..just listened to a couple of people |
|
talking about how the stock market was going up today.. well actually 5 people, three said it was because people in the market are just so happy to see that something is going to be done.. the other 2, said it was the opposite, that the market went up because they did nothing last night.
And of course the two who said it was because the market did nothing last night, do not have a clue of what to do, not do, or stay the same.. they just b@tch.
The only thing that really depresses me is to think how much money these people get to go on the air and be so clueless.. who says ignorance does not pay.. just look at the president and their group we just ousted out of power..
We have become accustomed to stupid leading.. :)
Could you believe that joe the plumber is now advising the republican party??
How we survived those nincompoops is beyond me..

10. The negativity motivates me - it means Obama is doing something right |
|
Long-term thinking versus short-term - if the "instant gratification" people are pissed, then Obama is on the right track IMO.
