Am I the only one looking forward to a filibuster?
I think it would be entertaining to force those blowhards to talk for hours and hours on end, with their little pee buckets sitting on the side.

Then the country can see what preoccupies these jokers while everything is burning down around us.

1. There's lots of us out here. Let 'em bluster, Harry Reid.
If they talk for days on end they no doubt will reveal themselves for what they are.

2. Yes, it's going to be great, but only if Reid has the balls to challenge the filibuster.
When the media asked Boehner what his stimulus plan would look like, he promptly placed his foot into his mouth. I can't wait to see more of that this week.

4. Reid - the fly in the ointment. Harry must have panic attacks
when confronted by the opposition because he always caves.

3. From what I have been hearing this morning they have the 3 votes to block a filibuster.
Collins, Snowe, Specter and if Teddy shows then they have one spare.

7. That moderate wing is sure tiny -- more like a feather.
But a win is a win.

8. CNN: Sen. Kennedy expected to vote on stimulus bill
A working coalition of members of the U.S. Senate have reached a deal on an economic stimulus plan and a vote is expected some time Friday night, Senate sources said. Ailing Sen. Ted Kennedy, the Democratic senator who has been absent from the Senate since collapsing on Inauguration Day, is expected to be present for the vote, sources said.

11. That's fantastic! He will be greated a standing ovation I am sure.
Could be Teddy's last and most important vote of his life.

10. As much as I dislike Specter
I actually respect him for standing up and supporting the bill.

5. I don't think they are required to talk during a filibuster anymore.
Senate Rule 22 eliminated that requirement--unless the Senate majority leader wants to enforce it.

So, who here thinks Harry Reid is actually going to force the GOP to flap their gums sore?

9. Yes that is my understanding. I think the reasoning is...
that a real filibuster is terrible waste of time and effort even though it would be great political theater and I am sure the MSM would love it to happen.

12. yeah, 'cause we've got all this spare time to stand around talking.....
.... nope. NO desire for a filibuster ... get the thing passed and move on to our next problem.

13. Unfortunately it sounds like the vote will not be until Tuesday.

I caught this at the tail end of a session on CSPAN this morning with someone who seemed to know what he was talking about. Anyone else hear that?
