Obama seems likely to get this stimulus bill through. Now it's time to start working on another one |
|
How to do this? Take the money that was cut to appease the DLCers and RINOINO's (Republican in Name Only In Name Only) and fold it all into the FY '10 budget resolution. That is not allowed to be filibustered by Senate rules, and would only require 51 votes (or 50, along with a tie breaking vote by Joe Biden). And by then we might even have Al Franken's vote as well.

1. They need to come up with a good solid budget - which still hasn't been done for the fiscal year |

2. True, and it is really important to pass a budget this time |
|
The fact that many federal agencies have been running on continuing resolutions has really killed their budgets. NSF for one.
People want to argue that something doesn't belong in the "stimulus" bill?, fine. Stick it where it belongs and pass it asap.

People are acting as if the "stimulus" package is "all-or-nothing". Thank you for pointing out there are other means of getting these items passed. Not just via the budget resolution, but in separate heath care bills, education bills, etc. This current bill is just a jump-start.
