So I hear a lot of complaining about the stimulus... |
|
and what's been done to it... SO I'll ask a simple question: How could we have done better? With our current Congress, how could we have done better. No snark, no sarcasm, just a simple question looking for simple, logical answers. Cause I'm seriously wondering myself. My solution? Toss Reid out on his worthless ass. But I'm sure other people have better suggestions.

2. should have dropped the "bipartisan" crap |

in hindsight, I can't imagine anyone saying that turned out to have been a good strategy. He was aiming for something like 20 GOP senators and a significant number of GOP house members? After all this negotiation and all these concessions he got ZERO house members and they're scrambling to get TWO maybe THREE senators.
Should have put forth a huge, solid, good-policy package. No tax cuts. Then when we're trying to break the GOP filibuster, we negotiate with Collins, et al to throw them a little something. Not gut the bill.

Obama needs to call the leadership in and read them the riot act. Unfortunately Obama won't be able to toss Reid but maybe he can trick him into being tough.....fat chance I know, but geesh, this is getting ridiculous.

Reid was relatively easy since the senate is so evenly divided. Harder is getting Pelosi to go along with their compromise.
