Steele-RNC "IT's work, it's not jobs"
This is the latest new theory of the Republican Party when asked why the stimulus is not job creation (on This Week, this morning).

I recommend watching the Steele part of this Week (you can skip Summers). Do that with a strong coffee next to you, because it will probably take at least that to start to understand his point (which is I think that constructions and other jobs are only temporary contracts, but I wonder how he thinks the economy works). Anyway, it is his reason today to oppose the stimulus package: it does not create jobs, just works.

Even Steph could not resist asking him what the difference was.

2. No jackass, it's neither. It's PAYCHECKS.
(Steele's the jackass, not the OP)

3. He needs to shut up. Who cares what he thinks.
The American people rejected his party last November.

Obama and the Democrats are the Governing Party of America, and Steele is respectfully requested to STFU.

4. That was a dumb statement by Steele. Any "work" that results in hiring people will help..
That is exactly what is needed now to put people back to work. Over time, the normal process of creating long term jobs will recover and we won't need the temporary jobs anymore. The man is clueless.

5. Wow, the Republican Party sure knows how to pick 'stupid'.
I can't watch him, and I do have a strong coffee next to me. I'd have to put a lot of whiskey in it.

8. In his alternate reality "Bush inherited a recession"
He was really bad. I said to my hubby, I am REALLY GLAD they picked this guy! Plus, I wonder if his position about letting the banks fail and no more TARP wouldn't be alienating the rich Republican base. If we're really, he could drive every single segment away from the Republicans.

9. Work but not jobs. Ok. Eating but not food.
No crystal ball have I but were I a gambler I'd not put a whole lot of cash on Steele's longevity as the Chairman of the Republican Party.
