Letter to Obama from The New Agenda...interesting on Kim Gandy
Edited on Sun Feb-08-09 12:37 PM by Captain_Nemo

No Way, No How to Kim Gandy for Director of Women’s Bureau
February 8, 2009

by The New Agenda

The following letter will be submitted to the Obama Administration:

RE: Obama Administration – Director of the Women’s Bureau

To Whom It May Concern:

The New Agenda is a national non-partisan women’s rights group with members in 50 states.
We are writing to inform you that The New Agenda does NOT endorse Kim Gandy for the position of Director of the Women’s Bureau. The New Agenda believes that while serving as President of the National Organization for Women, Ms. Gandy did not represent the women whom she was elected to represent. The New Agenda believes that Ms. Gandy used her role primarily to advance her own career interests.

The New Agenda would endorse the following candidates for Director of the Women’s Bureau:

Anita Perez Ferguson, Former President Natl. Women’s Political Caucus
Mary Beth Maxwell, Founding executive director of American Rights at Work
Ellen Bravo, Former National Director of 9to5
Robin Leeds, Winning Strategies

These candidates have represented and worked for women’s rights as opposed to their own self- interest.
Sincerely Yours,

Amy Siskind
President, The New Agenda

1. Isn't Kim Gandy the woman that was running around behind
dumb ass Palin during the campaign?

5. I'm all for getting rid of the phrase in general
but having called **** that term many times, I think it's pretty gender neutral.

8. I agree!
I wish we could cut that out too. Just because we disagree with someone doesn't mean we should be hateful about it. :dilemma:

11. Oops..confused her with someone else. Palin will always be
a dumb ass to me...has nothing to do with her gender and everything to do with her rabble rousing the racists during the campaign and being unable to answer simple questions during interviews.

2. NOW has been a pain in the ass for Obama
Why would he name her with all the other qualified candidates?

7. She shouldn't get this job...
I can't imagine why he would name her because she doesn't even remotely represent women , but I remember her supporting Obama every chance she got. When was she a pain?

10. During the Primary and after. And since he finished naming his cabinet
she was out there claiming this wasn't progress and she was disappointed at his cabinet

6. Bravo to this letter!
I think it is now pretty obvious what Gandy has been up to, and it hasn't been representing the women of this country. The New Agenda's list is impressive. I don't think there will be any problem finding a qualified, ethical candidate dedicated to advancing employment opportunities women.

9. Agree with the letter too.
I think we can do better than Gandy too. I bet Obama doesn't pick her. There are plenty of other choices although I will have to look up some of the women on the list from the letter. I don't know all of them...
