Lawmakers Say Stimulus Bill Expected to Pass Quickly

Despite deep disagreements between Democrats and Republicans on the $800 billion-plus stimulus package, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle said Sunday that they expected the bill to move quickly through Congress, perhaps even reaching President Obama’s desk by week’s end.

I was starting to get concerned when they delayed the vote until Tuesday but it now sounds like it's a done deal. I dearly hope so. I still wonder about when they reconcile the two Senate and House versions. Some were predicting that the House might play hardball and force some items back in. It now sounds like that is not going to happen. Although I wish they had left some of those good programs in, if it takes a little compromise to get the three Senate R's then go for it and get it done. They can add those programs back later with a separate bill.
