Barack Obama, what have you wrought ?? |
|
You gave us hope and raised our expectations. Do you have any idea what the people expect from you?
Andrea Mitchell, on the Chris Mathews show this morning, in discussing the Tom Daschle withdrawal, said that the American people were not just angry at Washington or Wall Street, but that there was a "populist" anger out there against wealth and the flaunting of it, when they were losing their jobs and their homes and their life savings.
Mr President, do you know what you have wrought? The people are angry. They expect change - big change. They will accept nothing less.

It took 10 days for him to realize that the republicans are going to be assholes for the whole 4 years. Hopefully there will be fewer of them after the 2010 midterms.

I would like to think who knew what the GOP was all about when he checked "democrat" on his voter registration application form.

2. I'm still being patient, as he's only been in office for a couple weeks. |

But I'd sure like to see some heads roll for what has been done to the economy. Particularly, after listening to the SEC hearing and seeing how inept they are. They can't be the only department who looked the other way while we were being ripped off.
I hope the loud cheers they all heard while on the campaign trail still resound in their ears, and that they remember those cheers were when they were talking about bringing those to trial who had committed crimes. We all know how long that list is, we just need to know something will be done.

We are so accustomed to quick band aid solutions that we demand it even if the probs are of the Larger Scope...
Obama has said it...this is not mickey mouse....its BAD...REAL BAD....we are teetering on full on DEPRESSION...
The Solutions will be costly and of long term....we need to get this in our heads.

25. I want a stimulus package that addresses the IMMEDIATE |
|
concerns of people in dire circumstances. I want the bi-partisan bullshit to stop. The price of gaining the support of two or three republicans to agree to a watered down version of what SHOULD BE, is too high and does NOTHING to help the poor, working poor and what's left of the middle class. I'm placing the blame for this bullshit at the feet of right wing democrats not Pres. Obama. I will blame him ONLY if he signs that shit.

9. Good. That is what will help get things done. If congress critters see |
|
that people are angry, they're more likely to change things. If they think we're apathetic or that we really don't want change, they'll keep on with business as usual.
The part that will take time is for those critters to realize that THEY have to change. They'll get it eventually if we're angry enough and loud enough.

24. Is this snark? If not....really? I do realize there are many people |
|
who voted for him who have not been involved or following politics as long as many of us have. I remember people being interviewed during the January festivities that were saying things like, "he's going to fix everything, I know I still have to work...".
I remember thinking to myself how sad that people were that clueless about where we are and actually thought that everything was going to be just "peachy" as soon as he took office. It will take YEARS. It took years to get us here and it will take years to fix this thing.
"What has he wrought?" Really?????

If we're in Chicago and you tell me you're going to drive me to Houston, I know it's going to take a long time. I'm willing to be patient.
However, if we get into the car and you start heading north on the highway, I might start to get a little nervous. I know it's going to take a long time, but I'm not sure that heading in the opposite direction is a good sign. I would probably start saying something before we got too far along the wrong road.
I think what people are concerned about is that Obama is heading in the wrong direction. No one expected the problems to be solved overnight. However, they do want to see some movement in the right direction.
Beading over for -- I mean "reaching out to" -- the corporatists isn't a good sign.
