It is time to get past the notion of instant gratification.
Edited on Sun Feb-08-09 04:23 PM by GentryDixon
The times have changed over the years to indoctrinate us into believing we must have everything "Right Here, Right Now". It is time to change our way of thinking.

Fighting the bias of the M$M is not an easy task. I feel like all the emails I send to the various hosts of the programs I am perturbed with are going into this black hole. You get the obligatory thank you from an anonymous computer, and nothing comes of it. But we cannot give up.

It is now up to us do what the media is not doing. We must get the message out there with letters to our local newspapers. We must continue our letters to the media heads, even when we feel they are not making a difference. My paper, The Salt Lake Tribune, shows remarkable support for the spending plan through the LTTE I read. The M$M doesn't want that reported, as it is not enough drama for their "Bubble Heads“. But the message is getting through. And that is the point. Every letter has the potential of planting a seed.

President Obama has accomplished a good deal in just under three weeks. There is a great deal to do to get this County back on track, but we must take one day at a time. There will be more false starts, but we cannot give up the hope of real change. I think the people are ready for it, regardless of what the talking heads try to make us believe.

This will take time. This will not happen in weeks, or years, but it will happen if we the people decide to take our Country back from the Republican rule we have been under since the exalted Ronnie stepped into the office and declared war on our Country.

Do not give up hope and do not stop fighting. We can do it. YES WE CAN!

3. Think of how long it took for
the repukes to get us into this mess and a smart man to get elected to get us out.

4. "for the other guy". Otherwise the wealthy keep right on doing whatever
they want whenever they want to. That advice is always for somebody else.

5. That's the problem with MSM
They don't report on a lot of stuff -- unless they can also dress it up while they report it -- because sometimes the newsworthy stuff just isn't dramatic enough for their purposes: gaining audience share > selling ads > making money. Bad news sells, and controversy sells. If neither bad news nor controversy is in sufficient supply, then couch the actual news in a way to give it that dramatic edge. Or, just report fluff.

6. I'm not sure it's an issue with people wanting instant gratification...
out of a lack of maturity or something, I think it's a matter of the infobahn conditioning people to want instant gratification, which can happen to all of us.

The internet can cause you to experience a bizarre subjective time dilation that is utterly divorced from the occurrence of actual events; I mean, I sat in front of DU for hours yesterday, and the stimulus vote didn't take place no matter how many times I hit Refresh...

7. How long past that time is it? You wanted it, like, yesterday?

I'm tired of waiting for people to get over their need for instant gratification.

Edit:

Awww.. you edited. If you can, change it to "Get Over Instant Gratification - Right F-ing Now!"

10. That tends to happen when a country is in CRISIS
I don't give a flying fuck about Obama's approval ratings.

I care about keeping a roof over my head RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW.

I'm guessing you have a job.

For now.

I see absolutely nothing in Obama that is challenging the repukes, quite the oppposite.

He caved before they even opened their mouths, giving them a third in tax cuts but omg, lets all hang Harry Reid.

Have some more koolaide and remember, we only had a one term democratic president after NIXON and WATERGATE before going into twelve years of Reagan/Bush.

He had better deliver or you can kiss this all goodbye.
