Revolt of the Liberals?
A very good article by one of my favorites, Jane Hamsher of Firedoglake:

It will be interesting in the upcoming days to see just how far under the bus Rahm Emanuel tries to throw Pelosi. I don't often give her any kudos, but this time she and the other House liberals seem to be the only people who are truly standing up for the rest of us to demand that the slashed Senate bill put back some of the most important and badly needed money for schools, infrastructure, etc. Too bad it took her so long, and for just this time I hope she doesn't cave.

1. It took her forever. She spent all the time throwing us under the bus
As for Rahm, he's not stupid, he knows that if he doesn't take liberal ideals into consideration, he will only spend 1 term in that WH

2. rahm would throw liberals in the nearest bonfire.
neither he nor pelosi have been great for us lately -- but when it comes to the stimulus -- better fuckin late than never.

you'll get way more from pelosi at this stage than rahm.

4. If Rahm
doesn't take liberal ideas into consideration, he won't last out the first term in the Whitehouse. This is President Obama's show and Rahm better get on the same bus. If he does anything to fuck this up President Obama will hang him by his balls.

6. Rahm doesn't care.
He's on a mission to serve the repugs.

7. That's his
choice. But he doesn't have an idiot for a boss so he won't last. Weed the backstabbers out early and move on.

8. How about we throw some conservative Republicans under the bus instead.
We have only two choices; to appreciate the Stimulus that is going to pass for what it may do, or to bitch about everything we woke up on Christmas to get and found that it wasn't in it, and then to proceed in joining the opposition in making Obama's presidency hell. Our choice.

9. That's crazy talk, Frenchie. Why blame Republicans when we can just eat our own?

10. I'm hip.
Then, when we force President Obama to fight on all fronts, and we end up with a Republican Asshole next time, we'll all be remembering the good old days! Kinda of like being tortured through Bush Jr. and only then understanding that whatever one might have had to say about Clinton, he was a hell of a lot better than asshole Bush! :eyes:

Many at DU are acting like Congressional Dems; trying to put everything into the Stimulus package and thinking that they should get what they ordered. It doesn't work that way in real politics....unless you've got a President who thinks he's a dictator like Bush did.

12. Our choices are we stand up for what we believe

and support the liberal democrats, or sit back and take everything that gets tossed to us. I don't see in either of those choices "joining the opposition".

Obama is going to make his own presidency hell if he truly believes he will achieve bipartisanship with this pack of vultures and con artists. The House handily passed their version of the Bill, now it's up to them to try to fix whatever they can in the gashes that the Repukes demanded.

Rahm Emanuel is taking orders from Pres. Obama, he's not out there doing makericky stuff.
