There will be setbacks and false starts...

"There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can't solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it's been done in America for two-hundred and twenty-one years – block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand."

- Acceptance speech by President Elect Barack Obama,
Wednesday 5 November 2008

7. Some people will forget...
That's why some of us will need to remind them from time to time.

13. I watched his speech again today. There is no doubt
He mentions Afghanistan and peace in the same sentence.

We're all suffering PTSD from the Bush nightmare. I am a god damned hair trigger.

But I don't think there can be any doubt which side of the fence this man stands on. I worry and I fear. But it's very hard to remain that way when you see his acceptance speech. As I watched it I realized that it was not something his aides wrote, as was most certainly done for the Chimp. But it was something that he wrote over a long period of time. Probably years. It was no lie.

Now I'll just go back to worrying. But I think we're in very good hands despite the huge powers that be.

15. Yep, he keeps saying that his main goal is to beat Al Qaeda...
..... by taking away their ability to recruit new members. If farmers can make more money off of farming things OTHER than poppies for fun and profit etc. then who's Al Qaeda gonna recruit?

It wont be pretty .... but his goal is not to blow them off of the map, keep them under his military thumb or even "promote democracy."

Sometimes we hear what we want to hear.
