Can you imagine BUSH doing something like this, a true town hall meeting? |
|
Unscripted questions, from a open audience? Guy gets up and rambles on for 90 or so seconds about the evils of "trickle down" economics. He is so on point, and this was a great idea.
Finally, we have a smart President who seems to be unafraid of talking to REAL people. He even takes a question from a Republican about "ethics" and answers and insists that she has a right to ask her question.
Bush would never had the balls to do this in 8 freaking years.

1. If Bush found himself in that position, he'd go crazy... it'd never have happened. |

3. ah yes, but do "Republicans" get this? |
|
I mean the rank and file "family values" crowd. Not the higher ups. Do they get the idea that we had our voices stifled in their special little time and that Bush was the photo-op bubble-boy president? Do they get the idea that if they actually ask questions that bear relevance to they themeselves, and not to their parroting shock jock opinion givers, they will get answers?
I doubt it...

After all that matters more than what he's actually doing. :sarcasm:

8. This town hall should be in prime time |
|
and the news conference now.
This is much more important than a gaggle of talking heads with an agenda asking stupid, partisan questions.

I wonder if the networks would cover it in that case.
I wish this townhall would have taken place last Thurs or Fri instead. I'm afraid the clips from this will be drowned out by the press conference tonight. Plus it would have been nice to see this on the Sunday morning political shows.

Slannity and friends will try to put people in the audience they think will trip him up but, I have watched many of Obama's campaign stops throughout the campaign and he can handle it.
