going forward, remember that republicans fuck shit up. |

Some of us seem to have forgotten this in the bipartisan afterglow of the election. These are the folks who, when the next republican president takes office, will the shocked at how mean they are. But they're only doing what they do. Like dung beetles play with turds, republicans fuck shit up.
I understand that the few Senate moderates they have left voted for the stimulus. (on edit: make that "for cloture") Fine. Fact is that the Limbaugh core of the party will (undoubtedly is even now) turn on them, because republicans even fuck up their own shit.
"Hey, asshole, I know plenty of republicans who don't live to fuck shit up." I know some too, but the shit-fucker-uppers so totally run the party that it doesn't pay to feel sorry for them. And now that they're out of power (???), their desire to REALLY fuck up some shit the next time they get a chance (tomorrow?) will only be that much greater.
Bipartisanship is a wonderful concept, and I applaud our own leadership for wanting so badly to achieve it. But bipartisanship with those who have no interest in it is to real bipartisanship as trying to teach the proverbial pig to sing is to making bacon.
And I like bacon.

1. Always. It seems that during my entire life, Democrats have had |
|
to clean up the messes left behind by Republicans.

2. I just wish they'd stop doing it with a smile, |
|
patting them on the back, and letting them go back to their big boy chair.
How about grabbing them and sticking their pudgy, fat noses into the mess of shit they made and then drop kicking them the fuck off of Capital Hill until they come back, hat-in-hand, apologizing in good faith?
The contrast would be nice.

7. Absolutely. Especially now, with President Obama inheriting the |
|
worst situation of any president in my lifetime.
It infuriates me that Bushco waltzed into the White House with a surplus and peace and proceeded to f**k up this country in unimaginable ways. And President Obama has to clean it up.
Just imagine what he could be doing now if he had followed President Clinton and the country he left us.

3. I would love to make that into a bumper sticker... |

... if there were some kind of magical ink only visible to those over 18. (Well, 16. Well, what 10-year-old hasn't heard both of those words. :evilfrown: )
"Republicans Fuck Shit Up." Four truer words were never spoken.

Reading McCullough's biography of Harry S. Truman just reminds me that Republican shit-fucking has always been their standard operating procedure (not that I needed reminding, but it never hurts). In the 1950 midterm elections, they levelled charges of "socialism" and the like at the Democrats, as they revived once again this past season. One of the few Republicans at the time to speak up was Senator Margaret Chase Smith of Maine. She delivered the famous "Declaration of Conscience" speech on the floor of the Senate. In it, she declared that she didn’t want to see the Republican Party ride to political victory on the Four Horsemen of Calumny — Fear, Ignorance, Bigotry and Smear. As expected, her principles and protests were roundly scorned by her party. When you think about it, EVERY presidential and congressional election since 1952, in which the Republicans won the White House or the majority of either house of Congress, they did it by riding these four horses to the hilt. I believe the horsemen are named McCarthy, Nixon, Reagan, and Newt. They keep the horses in a barn behind the Bushes when not being rode into the Capitol to dump their load.

In forty years, I have feared no republican. What the fuckers stand for, sure. But *them*? No. It's disappointing that our leadership STILL acts as if we're in the minority.
Don't know how much more of this I can take, Zomby.
