7. Actually, he does vote with the Democrats and Obama, what 90% of the time or so.
It's only on the issue of Israel that he differs. He'll support Israel no matter what.

10. How is blind support for Israel any different than the rest of the Dems?
I think you mean that Holy Joe only breaks from the Dems on issues where he, Joe Lieberman, can pocket some money or look good to the folks back home. He's a turd.

11. You're only paying attention to the one thing about LIEberman that bothers you.
LIEberman is a douche about other things than "Teh Jooz," but that's all you're noticing, isn't it?

13. Not when it comes to contraception for rape victims.
Lieberman said he believes hospitals that refuse to give contraceptives to rape victims for "principled reasons" shouldn't be forced to do so.

"In Connecticut, it shouldn't take more than a short ride to get to another hospital," he said.

Lieberman just goes whichever way the wind blows. From 2005-2008, he lurched towards the right. Now that Obama got elected (and stood up for Lieberman, no less), Lieberman has moved back to the left.

21. When it comes to rape victims, he has the compassion of Sarah Palin.
He voted to support hospitals refusing to provide contraception for rape victims.

"Safe vote" my ass.

15. They said 61 votes for cloture on the tv...I only get 59....
I just went over the official senate list....Including Kennedy and Sanders, we have 55, with Lieberman, Specter, Collins and Snow we have 59. So did they mispeak? Am I counting wrong? There are still two votes that I can't account for.

16. You are forgetting our 7 newly elected Senators.
Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 06:42 PM by Alexander
In the old Senate, we'd have had 51 with Lieberman and Sanders.

But you have to add these Senators:

Begich (D-AK)
Udall (D-CO)
Hagan (D-NC)
Shaheen (D-NH)
Udall (D-NM)
Merkley (D-OR)
Warner (D-VA)

That makes 58, plus Specter, Collins and Snowe makes it 61.

17. Make that 56, counting Sanders...
(I missed Harry Reid in my count.) So it's 60 counting Lieberman, Specter, Snow and Collins. But I could swear they said 61 voted for cloture.

including Lieberman and Sanders. I believe all 58 were there including Kennedy plus 3 Repubs gives 61.
