Obama is a liberal, through and through- just under the radar. |

I'm watching his townhall meeting right now.
This man knows exactly what he is doing, exactly what is going on with our country and exactly what is right. He is incredibly intelligent- smarter than the Big Dog, even- and his character is impeccable.
What he's not doing, though, is paying a lot of lip service to himself as a "liberal." No, you're right- he doesn't identify with us in public, doesn't get into deliberate ideological debates with his opponents.
What he does is talk in practical terms and put forward those ideas that we need- which are just "incidentally" liberal. He puts them forward in terms people can understand, in terms people can relate to- using populist rhetoric, one might say- and then beats his opponents over the head with their own ideology which they have put forward time and time again in no uncertain terms. He takes his own ego out of the equation, isn't afraid to admit mistakes, gives credit where it is due- always.
So even as he seems to ignore Howard Dean, I know exactly why. I saw what Cenk said about that whole thing- it's not that he doesn't want to be seen as cowtowing to the liberals- it's that he just doesn't want any of this to be ideological at all. And Dean was our leader for so long...
This man...I can not tell you how lucky we are to have him in the White House. He is going to be most likely one of the greatest Presidents our country has ever seen. He's going to pull us out of this mess we are in, mostly through retooling for alternative energy, and we are going to all owe him a great debt.

1. Obama is a liberal. Who understands the makeup of his party in Congress |
|
He's worked in the Senate. So he knows how conservative a good portion of the Democrats are.

2. Agreed. We are very lucky to have him. |

I posted earlier that President Obama is more liberal than I thought and though I had high expectations of him, I did not expect him to make me so happy his first month in office. I'm pleasantly surprised. He is who he says he is.

3. He is so much better that BC |

What happened over the past two weeks was amazing. Tonight he gets to go ask "why are repubs cutting education?" He won the round and now is the time for the bonus spin.
