This is now almost a hour of watching and listening to my President talk intelligently, make sense and enjoy the experience. I cannot believe it. It has been 8 long years! Whether you agree with all he has to say or not...isn't this a wonderful change for our country?

20. Oh, don't worry. She's just aware that he needs to reach all the people, not just those |
|
with actual attention spans. That's all.
As for me, I kept expecting him to say "See, the 'Murican pipple gotta unnerstan'" and start pronouncing words like a kindergarten teacher, loudly and slowly.
Or to say things like "This is a stimulus package, and that means it's a package that's supposed to provide a stimulus. In other words, it's supposed to be a stimulating thing, that's a package."
But he never did.
Ahhhhhhh... :-)

Okay, great, we have a President who speaks in complete sentences. If that's all it takes to get you excited, maybe you've set the bar a bit low.
It is expected that our President will speak intelligently. Now it's time for Obama to shift out of low gear and take this baby out on the open road.

Americans, aside from the FReeper camp, never "wanted" beer-buddy Junior in the Oval Office - they were saddled with him for eight long years. Thus, no real cultural shift to speak of.

that I could watch presidential press conferences once again.
I almost surfed over it. I was looking at the TV -- saw "Presidential Press Conference" on the listing -- and was ready to click to The 70s Show. Then, I thought. "Wait just a damned minute."
So, I watched it. I disagreed with him on some things -- and think he ducked some important questions, like Helen (God bless her) Thomas'.
But it was so nice to see a president who listened to the questions and formulated an answer and was able to deliver it in an intelligent way -- instead of pre-cleared questions and memorized answers on safe topics.
It's like we have a president again.
